The free trade you speak of is arms dealing. Arms dealing is one of America's economic forces right now.

Weren't you the one who said we should do something about these poor little countries "dying". Well maybe if the US didn't send them into a grocery store of arms, then they might not have the vast amounts of weapons available that they do, but somebody's gotta take the money and put humanitarianism second to greed.

I'm sorry I didn't mean just the US as a whole. I meant private arms dealers as well as arms treaties and government arms propositions.

you dont know much about arms dealing do you? America buys from bonafide weapons manufacturers (the companies i listed were gear manufacturers not weapons btw). These include:
Browning
Colt
Fabrique Nationale
Remington
Knight's Armament Company
Heckler & Koch
Sig Sauer
Glock
Springfield
Sage
In house Crane Naval Special Warfar Center

And thats about it for small arms. The weapons are purchased directly through these companies under government contracts with clauses saying these weapons can only be sold to the US. There is no nick cage-esque middle man dealing weapons here. That simply isnt the way it works anymore. No middlemen, no weapons lost to poor under developed countries.

not to mention the arms that are causing all the internal destruction you speak of are the Russian Kalishnokovs better known as the AK-47, AK-47s, AK-74, AKM, RPK, and Druganov. These, thank god, do not come from america in any way.

so really, miscratch, youre speaking out of ignorance. America, in the past when communism was the major threat has supplied smaler regimes with outdated weapons, however the weapons used against us and the weapons used to cause the real destruction dont come from us.

^stf the average candian soilder has better training then the average american soilder. you guy's just have better equiment what isint as inportent as better training, also because of your better equiment you guy's are in trillons of dollars of dept but you seem to be in denial about it. and shut up about the seal's yes there amasing soilder we know that, but i'm talking about the avarge soilder we have better ones

Ya and history has a way of exposing that these mean fuck all when someone wants to do something destruction. The UN has a fantastic way of sitting back and weighing the odds and price of certain conflicts while thousands of people get slaughtered (ie. Rwanda). The Geneva Convention meant dick all to Slobodan  Milosovic during his slaughterings in the Balkans.

O and one more thing, America had nothing to do with the initiation of the Geneva Convention, it was created in the 1800's by a man named Henry Dunant who is actually from Geneva, imagine that....

DO YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE GENEVA CONVENTION...
when people refer to the geneva convention they dont mean the 1st and 2nd retard. they mean the 3rd and 4th which was finalized in 1949 after WWII and adopted after 1949, respectively. Tehy also strongly refer to the last three protocols 1977,1977, and 2005. These are the main ratified ones. retard.

monkey what kind of average soldier are you talking about? I would say all marine regiments are representative of an average american soldier and most of our army is better than yours too. the 101st airborne, all rangers but 75th, 3rd armored- i would consider them all average but very kick ass. youre not goign to beat them. And if were talking about on the whole, then our military is light years ahead of yours. We have more Special Operational soldiers than you have soldiers period.

But, I guess it all depends on what a "good army" is to you. Sure, the US has more brute force that Canada-I cant deny that. But hell, you can kill as many people as you want, but that wont solve too much. I think what's important is PEACEKEEPING-probably a term most american's arent familiar with. Its actually pretty self explanitory. CANADIANS KEEP THE PEACE. If there isnt any fighting, then there aint too much of a war, no is there.

The American Military is feared, but the Canadian Army is respected for the work it does around the world.

Big fucking whoop, the Americans have a stronger army. Its how you use it, and I think the Canadians use thier army for better uses.

Oh yea thats right first US Marines Then US 75th Ranger Regiment, SOFD-D, Airforce TACP, Airforce PJs, and 4 Navy SEALs. WE PEACE KEPT IN SOMOLIA AND LOST 19 OF OUR OWN GUYS. The last time Canada was involved in any kind of peace keeping mission, other than the combined efforts in Bosnia, Yugoslavia and the other Balkins (WHICH WERE LED DOMINANTLY PRIMARILY BY THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) was during the Rwanda conflict and look at how that turned out. They begged for UN help cuz they couldn't handle it on their own. Eventually the hwole country was sacked.

What are you talking about? We have more than two thousand of troups around the world. ANd I dont give a flying shit about "75th Ranger Reginent" and all these details. You have taken a simple topic and completely blown it out of proportion.

I cant even epresss how angry I am at your comment of canadian peacekeeping. It saddens me that people around the world arent aware of the sacrifice Canadains are making. AND DONT YOU DARE tell me Canadians arent peacekeeping. My Uncle is currently in Congo on peacekeeping, and we lost my cousin Steve Unwin on July the 11th while he was peacekeeping in Sinai. Please, please understand your facts.

Here are a few places that Canadians are currently peacekeeping.

Afghanistan
Tampa, Florida / Bahrain
Bosnia-Herzegovina
Haiti
Golan Heights
Sinai
Jerusalem
Cyprus
Sierra Leone
Darfur: Western Sudan

nonetheless, those peacekeeping missions are joint ventures under the UN. meaning they have to wear blue helmets and blue vests. Im talking about sole responsibility actions...

And I really dont care if they are peacekeeping with the UN. What matters is that the Canadians ARE peacekeeping, and trying to make the world a better place.

im not trying to make amends, i seriously do care when any member of NATO or the good guys dies. But anywho, you realize there are far more americans stationed around the world peacekeeping than there are canadians right? and longer times too...

it's true there are thousands upon thousands of u.s. soldiers doing peace keeping for the u.n. but the media never says shit about that, only iraq, people claim the u.s. is losing that war, i say let the statistics doing the talking, approx. 3700 u.s. soldiers have died in iraq, and we've been there for 5 years now, world war 2 lasted 3 almost 4 years and 407,300 military personel had died. these are drastic changes in times, and are very good improvements in body armor, tactics and weaponry

who said that? You think 1 canadian soldier can acutally do the work of 4 us soldiers? You know the greater half of our military works in squads of 4 and it is said they do the work of a platoon of any other countries' soldiers. I thin kyou got your numbers mixed around. Once again, read my long posts on how the US trains, and their tactics. You know also that Canada's training and tactics even for their special ops (Joint task force 2, 427 SOAS) is a less rigorous adaptation of american training. so quit the bs.

Army now uses ACU/ARPAT/ACUPAT
Marines now use MARPAT desert/woodland
Navy uses standard US woodland/ tri color desert
Airforce uses US woodland/ tri color desert and Crye Multicam

probably one of the least respectful things to say... someone obviously does not give a damn about their country.

anyway, i kind of actually agree entering iraq this early in the game was a stupid move. I never advocated for it. I always jsut argue against teens who don't know what theyre talking about jsut to make them feel dumb. Anyway long story short, when you attack america you dont jsut get a slap on the wrist. everyone goes down. We went after iraq in order to secure all ties to al qaeda and the pushtun and all the islamic radicals. We got rid of hussein cuz he was a bad guy and we beleived he had wmds. He kicked the UN inspectors out of his country which was a violation of his accord in the first place. Granted we didnt find any declassified nonOPSEC WMDs, the reason we suspected him was cuz he did not allow the UN inspectors enough leeway to actually examine suspected sites. That on its own is grounds for action. We gave him an ultimatum to A either let UN inspectors thoroughly search for weapons or B surrender all weapons. He did neither and instead basically gave us the finger. Remember at this time America was still worrying about catching terrorist so while rumsfeild may have jumped the gun in getting in, he wasnt as unjustified as you michael moore lovers think he was.

The point is neither army is good anymore. They are both a waste of money and they are both ill prepared for the new types of war going on in this world. There are no longer the typical WW1 and WW2 styles fights anymore and Vietnam and Iraq/Afghanistan are proving are proof they style is dead. Want more proof? How about the 'progess' in Iraq. This old fighting style isnt working...

ww2 war of 1812 ww1

remmber vimy ridge in ww1 were the americans and the british both failed to take the ridge decided to send the candians in as a joke and then we turn around and take it in a day using a technec that we invented that is still used today by many army's including the US.

remeber the war of 18 12 were the americans invaded canada and we sent them home crying and then we burned the white house

and in world war2 we played a major part in many battels including st.nazair, battle of the buldge, rome and d-day were we single handedly took juno beach. also if you know the weapon that the american and candian's used was the m1 garand invented by a candian.

and then the korean war were we played just as big a role as the americans

so dont say are military is usless.

actually both signs claimed victory, however, the british practices that lead to the war were stopped after the war had ended, and all territories were the same after the treaty of Ghent, but the u.s. had accomplished what they set out to do which was the prevention of british naval harrasment

oh and not to mention canada wasn't even it's own country it was a British colony given troops and support by BRITAIN not canada so your argument about the war of 1812 is frivolous, also, your claims on Canadian importance in ww2 is over rated, how many beaches did american secure on their own? more than just one and the american also took on the most fortified beaches, the u.s. had many more soldiers in world war 2 ultimately having a larger impact your arguments are pointless and sophomoric and you obviously don't know your history very well, enough with the "canada has a stronger military than the U.S." IT DOESN'T

Uh the weapons aren't "lost" they are simply sold flat out.

Stop saying I don't know things and then not proving me wrong. All you did was list a bunch of manufacturers and say I don't know what I'm talking about.

Many countries in the world are using our weapons. I don't see what you're trying to prove wrong...
