I can tell you about liftie and instructor.
I have a buddy who was an instructor, and new a couple at my job (i was a liftie) and they said
Cons- fun, rewarding, get to ski all afternoon (if you don't have a lesson), get to ski alot.
Pros- little kids are annoying/crazy/ suck to work with.
Now i was a liftie
Cons- boring as hell, not too much ski time
Pros- easy as hell, meet alot of cool people, and where i live i got paid really well.
In my book, id way rather be a lift.

Be an instructor. Then you could ski all day and teach the kids what they need to know, not how to make pizza slices and snowplows. Teach them to ride switch from the start, then in a couple of years they'll blow your mind away when you see them in the x-games or something.

rentals.
i've worked rentals and liftie. after ur awhile ur hate life as a liftie. specifically, anyone who gets on ur lift u will want to fight. rentals is way better, plus you usually work in the mornings or afternoons so u get midday to ride. instructers work really stressful jobs all day for shit pay and don't ski enough

Fuck rentals. You have to be sober all day at work because someone might get hurt, and you have to give them the right size boots and skis. And you are supposed to be certified and you are supposed to set their forward pressure, fuck that hippy bullshit.

i think i would rather have like, restuarant job, or like, hotel reception, something with a shift 4-12 or 5-1 or something like that... ski all day, work aft/ night, sleep from 1 to 9... repeat...

Don't work as an instructor unless you've got a truck-load of patience...

There is nothing more fulfilling than filling out a crash pack where someone's K2 4s were not holding up in the train park. A torn ACL ended your season? It made my day. Our motto: We'll end your season before our's ends.

Ok I've worked all of the above
I worked as a liftie when I was 16, sucked had to watch other people ski and stand in the cold.
I worked as an instructor when I was 17, better than being a liftie but you're more or less a baby sitter for parents who want to ski without their spoiled children.
I worked as a rental tech last season, not on the hill but in town. I loved it, gets a little stressful when busy but super fun. It normally got me 5 days of skiing a week.

It really depends on the mountain
I was an instructor/still am, at a small local mtn in NY. I teach the lil kids how to ski and whatnot. Every weekday, i have 2 or so hours after i finish to ski, which is cool because the park is real small, one lane with a tiny ropetow. I loved the job, it wasn't too bad at all, and i got to ski alot more then the prvious seasons.
Now, from skiing 2 extra hours every day, i got to know the lifties real well. I became real good friends w/ some, and even smoked bowls every day with one of them. Which was sick. He liked his job when he worked the park tow, because there was usually 2 guys working there. So one could take a few laps, while the other watches the tow. So it was real easy for him. He said it sucked when he had to work the triple chair tho, real boring, and no lapping to do.
It really depends on where you are, what you get paid, blah blah blah

rentals is the shit. you dont have to work alone and you dont have to be with the same people for an hour that dont know what theyre doing. its great. at my resort when theres no one in there they play lava. where they have to get across the place without touching the ground. they have to jump from rack to rack and such. great fun
