so im going to make one does any one else have any experiance with them what are the best fuels other than spuds whats a good ammo? etc...

i made one but i reccomend NOT using PVC. It deteriots very fast when it gets shot and can break/explode very easy. i reccomend using ABS piping, its like pvc just much thicker,stronger and is black. I use hairspray as a fuel and it works the best out of everything ive tried and i generally use potatoes but apples, oranges or anything round works quite fine. For Ignitor i used the sparker out of a barbecue lighter and superglued and calked it into the chamber so the button is sticking out and the wire is in the chamber. i then screwed two screws into the chamber leaving a small gap between the points of eachother so the tips were almost touching. i then attached the sparker wire to one screw and when i pressed the button it made a spark between the two screws. and voile you have a spud gun

make it so it fits a tennis ball and I suggest making it so it can used pressurized air and not hairspary because that shit gets stickey. you have to have a good compressor though.

that was pretty much everything.
i got 2 spud guns right now, one that is cloapseable actually. use a 4 inch chamber and 2 inch barrel and you will be shooting 400-500 feet. chamber should be about 18 inches long.

if you want one that will last longer make on that uses compressed air b/c you wont have to worry about the spark being there or big enough or the left over sticky shit from the hairspray

ABS? That is the worst possible thing to use besides glass! Maybe if you use a commercial grade, 1/2" thick sidewalls but other than that, abs is terrible. It can't even compare to pvc in psi it can withstand.

alright so you guys dont really no wut u r doin when it comes to a spud gun. i have had one for 2 years plus. i made it from PVC and nothin is wrong with it. i have a 4 foot barrel that has a diameter of 2 inches. sharpen the tip so u can put the potato in better. then put a screw at the end of the 2in diameter barel so the potato stops. then have a chamber of 2 feet long 4 inch diameter. i have a connector from the 2inch diameter to the 4inch diameter. then get a screw cap at the end. use a barbeque starter to lite the shit. use ether for spray. it works the best. dont put too much though. it floods and doesnt fire. just message me if u want pics though.
