Building Wallride

Alright im building this wallride out in my backyard but im going to make it a spine also so you can drop off the back. So its basically going to be a real steep A-Frame. Since ive never really ridden a wallride before since my mountain doesnt have one, how wide should i make this just to be safe? Do you think 8 ft will be alright or should i make it more like 12?

ive seen tiny ones that were like 6 feet wide. are you going to have flat at the top so you can do little hood ornament stalls?

yeah im going to make a flat deck on top, and i was toying with the idea of making it a spine over the back because i think that would be kind of fun to mess around on. i hope its easier to visualize once i get more work done on it

size isnt normally the problem i used a picnique table to stall on top of just make the steepness right cuz if its to steep u die and its no fun

definitely a great suggestion. YOU MUST HAVE A COPPING ON THE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Weather it be PVC just Embedded or A metal one...What ever you choose. I would not make a spine out of it. If you are going to put a top onto it put it at an angle and put pvc on that so you can slide like a box or something along that line unless you want to make a box on top that you just turn sideways. Anyway its up to you here.

you just put some snow at the bottom. they dont need any strips to hold snow

yeah i think im going to make it about 10 ft wide and have 2 steel rails imbedded at the top on either side of the flat deck. im probably going to angle the top but im still deciding how much and whether or not im going to put a back on it so its more of a spine. i started building the frame and sinking in the poles to the ground but there were a shit load of bees out right around where i was building it so im going to let them calm down for a couple days before i go back out, since they were pissed.

we had a make shift wall ride in my backyard.  it was a 5 by 10 construction board (i know strange its usually 4 by 8)  we put 2 by 4s on the back for support and one 2 by 4 on top as a coping.  cause it was only 5ft wide we were just stalling and didn't need real coping.  we left it wood too just painted it and it worked perfect.  oh and we found a spot that was already a natural rise after the hill. so we put the wall ontop of a 4ft mound that was already there.  had a nice 14ft stall and it was simple

o man me and my two friends got 4 carloads of snow and made a sketchy 4 foot tall 7-8 foot wide wallride (wooden skateboarding ledge). then we made this really skinny and long in run and it was loads of fun. Wallrides are sick!

heres my start so far. im going to put plywood on bothsides and a board on top with coping so you can slide it if you want. it will also be about 4 feet wider than this once i sink in the last support and the bees calm down a little bit:

i assume that there is a long and steep slope that leads into that? because it does not look like it from the picture. sick wallride by the way

It would be fun with the coping on top, pvc would proboly work if you dont have anything already

you can then only expect to stall on the top rather than slide on it due to the fact that plywood doesn't slide...most wall rides have lexan or hdpe

well we were going to do like a coping on top. probably like pvc or a metal tubing. so we could slide on that.

yeah we have a long inrun leading up to it. and i have a start ramp that we could use at the top incase we needed a little more speed which i doubt. from the start i was kind of going for more of a stall A frame type of thing. the plywood wont slide well at all but it will be enough for what i want to do on it. im probably going to put some steelpipe coping on top. i'll take a pic of the trail when i have time
