yeah i just moved to vt from ny and im not farmilliar with anyone up here yet, i skied all winter at killington only knowing one or two people. lets get to the point. i wanna get together an amazing ski team. you have to be in the killington area and want to get better at skiing and show all these other people who's boss. i don't want any ski racer that like to do rails without twin tip skis and like to just ride over a jump with poles tucked under your arms. this is not the place for you. message me with what you can do and what you can contribute to the team, at some point i want a potographer to put the teams videos on rsn and anywhere that we can get our name out. im doing this now so were set for next winter. thankyou

you should someday. I mean there's days where I'll ride with 20+ other kids and then there will be early mornings where i just lap the park nonstop by myself. Skiing for the sake of skiing is a good feeling. dont get me wrong, i love the crew i ride with but i dont ski for them

^well killington isn't the place to do that. go to loon or waterville, or better yet, go out west. killington has sucked ever since they took the park off of bloodshed.

is he the guy who had a white jacket last year and threw mainly a ton of different backflip variations. I skied with/filmed him a couple days last year. Didn't really know him well he was just a friend of a friend.

Hey Tim!
Yeah, I'm heading up there next fall. Got some financial obligations I need to wrap up here in Western New York before I can head out and make something of myself finally. So at the ripe old age of 23, I'll be going back to college. Haha.
As for Killington being "expensive". In relation to their past season pass prices, yes. In relation to other large resorts around the region, and country? No.
Mount Snow '07-'08 - $500
Killington '07-'08 - $999
Stowe '06-'07 - $1225
Okemo '07-'08 - $1049
Sugarbush '07-'08 - $999
Now let's look at other resorts around the country...
Whistler-Blackcomb '06-'07 - $1369
Mammoth Mountain '07-'08 - $1600
Yeah, bummer for us seasons ticket purchasers that the price went from $399 to $999 but you need to realize from a business standpoint it was retarded for Killington to continue offering ASC's price of $399. It made it cheaper for an out of town vacationer skiing 6 times a season, to buy a seasons pass, than to buy individual lift tickets.
Killington just priced themselves right on par with other resorts pricing.

I'm stoked on heading up there next fall myself too.
Sure, are there better places to ski? Yeah. But when your from Western New York and are used to 600-700 feet of vert and flat trails, you're happy with any real mountains.
And hell, a pass here in Western new York is $645 at Holiday Valley. So I'm not going to bitch about the pricing at large resorts being $300 more than a place with 700 feet of vertical.

When a pass goes from $350something to $700something (after 7+ years of being at that price) I better see some serious improvements and NOT newer/more luxurious lodges, spas, and all that other bullshit. If I'm going to pay more for a season pass I want better skiing and not some yuppie shit.

You should be greatful that the All-East Pass ever existed at $350.00 not complaining about a price that is on par with everyother major resort around. There is a reason why ASC had to sell off so many resorts and is a financial nightmare, and the All-East pass had a lot to do with it.
If you don't want to pay that price (800-$1200) for a seasons, go to a smaller operation.

haha skier x knows what hes talking about...and why would i go to another mountain when i go to killy for free...i dont care if other mountains have better set ups...i still get ood practice on whats at killington. and they raised the price because they are going to do some major work on the mountain.

wrong on that last bit. Well i suppose you aren't, but you gotta realize that the improvements aren't gunna be for another 5+ years. They're raising the prices because their theory is fewer people at jacked up price = same amount of money with less cost for maintenance. Makes sense it just sucks for people without that much money to throw around.

i talked to the owner last night..when my dad stoped by..he says that there will be a lot of new stuff in the parks and there will be some minor improvements to the trails. but yeah the major stuff...*new trails ect... wont be for a while after ownership

it also sucks for my parents because they have lifetime passes and the new owners took them away - only a few people own them and even fewer use them so its just stupid that they took them away especially for people that just bought them recently - they should at least let the people that own them keep them until they no longer ski because most of them are in their 50's and 60's anyway

It's nothing personal. It's strictly business.
If you ran a company, you'd do the same.

not really, for such a big company with so many people skiing there a year it is really not a big deal to let those people who have them keep them, the same thing happened when the old company took over and they allowed the people to keep them, what is a couple thousand dollars to a company that takes in millions a year - all they are doing is making everyone unhappy with the big increase in season passes and then taking away the lifetime passes - i haven't heard from anyone who is happy with the new owners - if they fix up the mountain and have a park crew that actually cares then maybe i'll change my mind a little

All there was before was bitching about ASC. You can't keep everyone happy when running a major resort.
The transfer of Killington away from ASC was a damn good thing.
Is it a bummer the All East Pass is gone and you can't ski a season for as cheap as you could before? Yes, but you need to look at it from the eyes of management and not from the eyes of a customer who got used to being given unproportionately cheap seasons pass options. It was cheaper to buy a seasons pass at Killington in past years than it was to own a seasons pass at my local hill with all slow lifts, a tiny ass park, and 650 feet of vertical.
You had people taking one vacation to Killington for a few days finding it cheaper to buy a seasons pass, then to buy individual passes.
And why should a company, with no relation to the prior company, honor a benefit that was given to a few select people that were a part of an operation that no longer exists many years later? There is absolutely no benefit to them whatsoever from a business standpoint.
Sure, you're seeing higher pass prices now. What you aren't seeing is a company that will be able to successfully turn a profit at a resort that was a part of a financially doomed company previously. Financial prosperarity tends to result in improvements to further advance the financial gains and to stay ahead of the other regional resorts, which are creating healthy competition.
It will take time to see the changes as things don't happen overnight.

its obviously better financially to take away the passes, but they wouldn't loose anything in keeping them and it would have been a nice thing to do especially as a new owner trying to gain the support of the locals that have been skiing there for most, if not their entire life

what does the all east pass do? do you just get a few passes from each resort? that would be perfect. where do you find them?

ASC went bankrupt because of Steamboat and basically all their other mountains - killington kept it alive - the new owners would have made more than enough profit if they didn't boost up the season passes - so many people ski killy for just 2 or 3 days a year so they wouldn't need to buy a season pass - if killington gave away all their money that they made from season passes they would still make a ridiculous amount of profit from day passes, hotel packages, food, ect.

yea they do make a killing off of the day passes, hotel packages, food, and other things but the seasons pass does make them quite a bit of money too.
and yea killington was the resort that made ASC any profit but ASC was in too much debt for it to matter anaway, because of there high intrest loans when they bought all of the mountians that is what screwed ASC over.

yeah, he just blamed killington for bankrupting ASC so just explained that it wasn't the case - and maybe over exhagerated

Powder bought the land (not the mountain they lease that for 2mil a year) but the condos hotel ect... That is why they don’t need to legally honor the lift time passes, its kinda stupid because the first thing in the paper about Powder is getting rid of these life time passes.
ACS sucked ass because they grew too much and made some shit land deals. In a short amount of time they spent alot of money, and lost some in a land deal out west. Alot of the mountains made money, almost all of them did most of the time. Hell Pico hasn’t lost much money, they some how brake even every year. What ASC did was centralize all the resorts, so each resort helped the other or go and pay back the dept. So Killy made a fair amount of money, but not much was put into capital improvements at Killy, rather it went to Sunday River for a new lift or some shit

sounds like fun but for some reason i just hate killington. I love their parks and the fact their first open and last closed but i hate the ticket pricing and the fact that if you go on a wensday in the middle of march its just as busy as a saturday during christmas time. I'll stick to killington as my thanksgiving/april ski spot. besides i like my home mountian to much

And think of how much more of a killing they will make now that people who ski 6 times a year will buy individual tickets as opposed to a seasons pass for the same price.
As well as all the money from revenues will stay at Killington and likely be put into the mountain to put the mountain above other local resorts.
It sucks that the price went up, but I don't get where people are coming from actually bitching about the price when it is on par with all the other RESORTS around the area and country.
