Yo, I just picked up a pair of wooden water skis from a garage sale and i am going to mount them up to shralp the pow pow this winter, should i take the fins off?
i think they will work in deep pow but have no control anywhere else, there was a matchstick movie where mckonkey mounted ski bindings on water skis and shredded on them, i cant remember what it was though
I've used waterskis at Squaw a couple of times. One day in good pow, the other when it was really wet new snow saturated with a bit of rain, but enough new snow so it was really smooth. They ruled--so good that I had no doubts in my mind that every other struggler out there could have used a pair. They were the best tool for the conditions. But when things get cut up, they'll be a little funky because there's so much surface area, and only use groomers to get back to the pow.
take the fins off. you will problys have to ski those bad boys like a huge rockered pow ski with out side cut. idk pontoons lack side cut alot(idk if they are rockered). you should probably try to sharpen the edges so you can get a grip of the snow a little better and you wont loose your footing.
