If you think about it, this is a pretty cool concept for big air tricks. A big air jump into a massive quarter pipe. This is something I could totally see in something like JOI or Candide Invitational...

I'm talking like a massive jump and massive quarter pipe though... Like the JOI jump followed by Candides quarterpipe.

that DOES sound dope. They had one at high north a couple summers ago, it looked pretty awesome.

Ok I understand that there are a bunch of jump to quarterpipe setups but I'm talking like the JOI jump directly into the 30' Candide quarterpipe. And just those two features as a big air comp. It could be interesting.

that would be sooo dope. X games would make it legit too.
It would be cool if they had:
slopestyle
big air
halfpipe
just like in the summer

It would give skiing too much coverage. X-Games wouldn't allow lameness of that magnitude.... duh.

i think it would be dope, i also think skiing needs more best trick rail comps though, with reall unique innovative setups that allow tons of trickery.

i really like that idea. But it might make people play the jump safe like its part of a slopestyle.

I'd rather fall 50 feet on snow than 50 feet on a plywood ramp.... IMO

the only thing that could be bad about that is people not going huge on the jump and just taking it safe for the QP

pretty sure it would blow if the x games put it on... considering they cant even get good sized jumps for the slope style....

the quarter in big air bmx and skate is really just so you slow down but if they did it where both jumps count in skiing youd see steezy stylish moves on the gap and then you would have more tech pipe moves i suppose

you must be retarded.... they score both.

Yeah that would be dope. The only thing is, is I don't know if people would go as big off the first jump, since then they have to hit the quarterpipe.(example: switch landings, they would lose some speed when they have to revert...unless they hit quarterpipe switch, which would be ridiculous)

have you ever fell that far before and landed on flat, hard, groomed snow? i have and it broke my back in two places and broke a rib. you make it sound like landing on snow would be like landing on a pile of pillows. at that height, what you're landing on- if it's going to be flat and hard- makes little difference. no matter what, you're fucked.

i think its like, 60% of your score comes from the gap, 40% of your score comes from the qp...

If they only scored the gap, jake would have won. hence, they judge both. jake should have won either way anyway.

okay well how about when matt hoffman did a nice trick on the jump and a bad QP air? and the announcers were bitchin about the QP air and about how he is not going to get a good score because of that?

Haha, the big one is 70. 50 isn't large by skiing standards at all by the way.
