A better question is what is Punk? Punk as it was at first is dead. The 76-80 shit. Ramones, Sex Pistols, New York Dolls, and there ilk. That was "pure punk" and noone is making it now. After 80 the punk scene disintegrated and out of that came hardcore. Not that screamer shit like Norma Jean; but bands like Black Flag, The Exploited, and the Subhumans. Faster, harder, more political. That shit is still around. What the little kids call punk now isnt really punk. Its poppunk. Singing about your girlfriend isnt punk.

very true, many "pop punk" bands like good charlotte, simple plan, blink, etc... should never be considered punk but "pop punk" bands like tricky dick, lawrence arms, propaghandi, etc... should be considered punk

seriously, did anyone watch the trailer to that, there is some legit stuff but alot is just bs like calling kids that buy hot topic outfits punks or calling my chemical romance a punk band its just not right
