well thats an easy choice between slc and maine. but as much as I hate saying it school is important. so thats a choice you'll have to figure out, your definetly going to want a degree so you can make some good money.
but slc is pretty easy to manage. rent is cheap, craigslist is very good for that, or the paper, or u can just drive around and call the number on the sign. theres always a room for rent around campus or sugarhouse for like $250 a month.
and has far as employment goes in slc there is always somewhere to work. I have never had a problem finding a job. whether its REI, an italian restaurant, alta, or a law firm where I work now.
and there are alot of schools around here. the U, slcc, westminster, weber state and a few others in ogden, which is another city about 25 minutes from slc, where snowbasin is located, and its actually a very sick resort.
you could always consider working at a resort and finding employee housing as well, which isn't bad, but might not be good either, haha.
but overall slc is a sick place to live. I have been here for almost 5 years now and its dope. I lived on campus for awhile but now rent a house in cottonwood heights. can beat living 20 minutes from 4 major ski resorts, which are considered world class.
but remember this, don't be a fool, stay in school, haha. your only 20, you have time to go to school, if you want to ski bum it do it, the choice is yours, its all do-able and up to you. there are plenty of people who come here and take a few years off from life and ski, that I can assure you.
but hopefully that helps u a little...
