You just have to stay focused. Don't get distracted. Just think about how much easy everything will be once you are flexible and all the sick grabs you'll be able to pull.

find a role model and just tell yourself that by doing whatever, you will become like them.

Yeah, I was going to say set high goals so you always try to achieve them. But Slandis gave a better example, use someone you can actually compare yourself to.

I think I heard a catch frase somewhere but god I just can't remember what it was...it was like 'think not.' no, 'just think it' or maybe, 'don't do it' hmmm. OH OH i think it was 'just do it!'-nike...

you by any chance short?
Motivation comes from realizing what can happen if you take action, and what wouldn't if you don't take action.
For example, you realize you would be able to do more grabs, or be more flexible, or such.

Look in the mirror
Maintain an understanding of who you are
Get to know you're strengths and weakness
Use them to YOUR advantage
Set high goals.. even if you miss you'll land among the stars

While on the treadmill, bring a laptop/tv put it in front, and watch skiing vids. and think that you'll be able to do that if you keep pushng yourself.

Flexible people can do different grabs, which makes you able to do something different, be it simply because you want be unique or get noticed by others.

okay i got a torn acl in february and i understand the lack of motivation thing, all i do is watch ski movies to get motivated. works every time. this summer has been hard but it's slowly getting better and next winter will be a little rough to start out with but i know that if i work hard i'll be back to 100%.
i think what landis said is the best thing. think of a role model or someone that has done what you want to do and ask yourself how did they do that and how are you going to work equally as hard to reach that goal. it'll be hard but the rewards you will reap from it will be amazing and you'll find that it's all worth it.

I listen to music and imagine some sick skiing or surfing footage I could put with it while I'm running. then after awhile I zone out and just run.

mind over body. just fuckin do it and don't be a bitch about it. i'm not trying to be mean but the only thing stoppin you from stretching is yourself. noone or thing is gonna be able to get you to do something but yourself. i really didn't want to run 5 miles a day this summer but i forced myself to. you'll be happy you did in the long run
