alright, im lookin for a powder ski...im lookin for smothin that will really keep me afloat in some pow...i dont want anything too expensive though....somethin with a big underfoot

all of lines 08 powder models (sir francis bacon, eric polard pros, and the elizabeths) have over 100 underfoot but there like 400$ or some shit like that. i was to lazy to look up prices for other companies. sorry

what kinda of skiing do you want to do. i have ants and love them for charging, but i wish i had something a little softer with more sidecut so i can play around a little more....ahhh but you can straight line anything on ants and still feel comfortable

I'll vouch for this ski, if you want something for pow, buy it. Seriously. I wish I hadn't sold mine, but I needed the money for another cause, they absolutely slay powder like no other ski I've ever ridden, they float amazingly and stomp landings like jumping into a pile of pillows. And switch in pow? Nothing like it, they are super stable for landings and carve switch awesomely. And don't be intimidated by them, they aren't nearly as hard to ski as you'd think, even carving forward and switch on groomers is easily doable.

Yeah... I'll admit... if he's not looking to spend too much money, the my Maden's might be out of the question. But, for anybody else, with the pristine condition they are in, that price is fair.

Groomers are fine, I never really had them on real ice, but they are pretty much what you'd expect from a fat ski on ice...not good. But everywhere else they are awesome.

They are kinda heavy, but once you get used to it, it's not really a big deal...only really hurts your spinning, and you shouldn't be spinning more than a 5 on them anyway. It's like getting used to driving a big Hummer H1 instead of a little Honda Civic.
I skied mine around Anchorage, and I'm guessing coastal Alaska is alot like where you are...sometimes you get pow, but it's not super light, fluffy Utah style pow, and sometimes it's slick, hard, and crusty snow...They can handle themselves decently on that stuff, but that isn't where they are made to shine...get them into anything untouched and you'll be having the time of your life.
You don't have to ride the backseat to stay afloat like you do on skinny skis, they just plane up on top of the snow, and you can pressure the front of your boots and ski normal, if it's super deep they just sit under the surface of the snow, but you still keep awesome speed and feel like you're surfing.

PM mattman10 he's got a pair of 130s that he ride in Ontario, I believe, so it's always icy there, he could give more feedback, but I bet he says the same thing I do about the skis, which is that they are amazing and he likes them alot.
