So drinking casually won't affect your motor skills at all, but smoking a week ago will? Do you know what alcohol is? It's poison for your brain. I like drinking, but that's what it is man. Drinking casually won't affect your motor skills significantly just like smoking casually won't affect your motor skills significantly. And do you really think that because the department of health says it, it's automatically true? Fifty years ago the dep. of health was denying that smoking cigarettes led to lung cancer and it was studies like this one on weed that changed the opinion of the scientific community.

And, i'm not really sure what you mean by "it doesn't matter what they find in their system" because if you actually mean that statisitic you posted is irrelevant, then you're just an idiot with no credibility at all.

It's impossible to OD on cigerettes, but it's proven that they are a serious health issue. Like I said, some people it might not affect at all but it certainly affects others.

Not saying that weed doesn't have it's problems...but the lung cancer portion of what you have been saying is apparently not true according to the harvard study.
They'll have to recheck their facts, or stop feeding us old information. I myself am trying to cut down on it (haven't smoked in the past 1 and a half months) but it's still enjoyable from time to time. I used to be pretty regular (every day or so) and my grades weren't affected and since I rarely drive, I haven't had a problem, nor would I drive while blazed.
Many people who smoke bud have already had depression symptoms or anxiety in the past...why would doctors prescribe medical mj for patients with anxiety disorder?

Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure they use weed to make patients eat more, I think depression/anxiety are symptoms of smoking weed.

Nope it's not just for that.
Along the west coast medical marijuana is common. If you're 18 and you have back pains, you can get it. Sleeping problems? yep.
anxiety disorder? Yes. Depression I don't think so though.

The government produces their information based on SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE and a thing called EXPERIMENTATION, you produce your information without being a doctor/scientist, or have any expert knowledge in the subject. When the government organizations such as the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) tells you that in your can of Soda there is 150 calories, do you not believe it? I think it's time for you to stop being naive and begin to understand that the government agencys like the FDA, and NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse) aren't lying to you.

i was watching a movie today on hbo until it started bugging out and dropping frames

there was a couple of people who couldnt function and no medication but marijuanna helped
like post dramatic stress and this one person would have been blind by 60 but with smoking he saw up until he died

I just think it's absolutely rediculous that society has gotten to the point where there are very few things we can do that are "fun" or "cool" without the use of a physiologically altering substance. And to the point where we get angry and will defend it's usage to the grave.

I drink and smoke. But I don't think I'd get worked up and absolutely pissed off if someone took them away from me. Everything in moderation guys.

/Sigh.. I never said anything about being able to drive in a straight line, dipshit. The studies have shown that it decreases reaction time/short term memory, etc., it's not certain that you will get in a crash but it certainly ups the risk. If your brother thinks it's a good idea to drive blazed, then he can stay the fuck away from me. The government agencys that test this shit know a hell alot more then some punk ass 12 year old.

You can't have proof, but it will no doubtibly increase car accidents dramatically if there was x amount of people driving around high. Weed and Alchohol are 2 different things, if you get in an accident drunk, they will take blood from you and find out what your BAC level is. Weed doesn't work like that, it'd be too hard to tell whether you were high at the time or smoked a week ago, but just because it's hard to prove doesn't mean that legalizing marijuana and having a bunch of high, irresponsible morons driving around wont increase car accident deaths.


I don't know what you mean, one-sided. I've said that it can help with certain things, but like Drew said unless you need to puff everyday to get hungry or cure your back pain, you're just using it as an excuse to smoke weed. If a cop pulled you over and found weed in your car, and you said "oh, it's for my back pain", do you think he'd give a shit? No.

Gava, I thought you were pretty intelligent, but honestly... People who drive high aren't driving around in cities and shit if they don't have to, they're driving on backroads and highways where people aren't going to see them smoke. Places where you don't need lightning fast reactions. It also impairs you much less than alcohol. Sure, you can drink responsibly and drive, but you can very easily abuse alcohol, without even trying to for that matter, and cause problems with driving. One joint with a friend won't impair your driving that much if you're experienced; same with a bowl or pretty much anything besides a gravity bong. 

Your source is incredibly biased. Why would you EVER trust a company created, funded, run by, and monitored by government officials who are trying to justify their anti-marijuana policies over an independent study from an extremely legitimate source such as, oh... Harvard? Clearly if Harvard has any agenda as far as this is concerned, it would be anti-marijuana, but what did they come up with? Oh yeah.
