I am leaving to go round the world in 14 days. I got 2months in italy, 3 months in thialand and vietnam, and 7 months in australia and new zeland. If anybodys got any advice whatsoever about travelling to any of these places, please share.

While in Italy, make a day trip or weekend trip up to Lucern in Switzerland, sooo cool and gorgeous! Lots of snow on the mountains that you can see everywhere cause Lucern is in a vally. And also don't go to Rome, as cool as it sounds, Rome is the most touristy place and there are loads of pick-pockets. So if you do go there, carry a chest pouch and if you see groups of kids going around age 9-18, good chance they are pick-pockets cause they travel in groups. But definatly check out Sienna, Florence, and San Giminiano (sp?). The small towns in Italy are soo cool, with the small cobblestone roads and all. Can't help ya with the other places though.
Oh, and you gotta go to a wine taste testing place, the stuff is incredible, they'll give you a white, a red, and a dessert wine and give you a tour of the place and process and all, super cool. Just make sure to check out the Tuscan area of Italy (the northern part) it's prettier than the southern parts!

If you're interested in history go to Rome. I was there in January and it was great. Yes it's touristy, but it's beautiful. Also, try and get to Venice and Sorrento. Both very very nice! I love Italy to bits. Tuscany and around there is nice too.
I live in Australia so I would advice you to come to Sydney! Its the best city here! I'm biased coz I live in it but that doesn't matter. It's a very big place so don't think you'll be going to the Great Barrier Reef for a picnic and then having dinner in Melbourne or anything! Lonely Planet guides are really good when you're going travelling, so check out those at a library or bookstore (they might have a website too).
Have a GREAT triP!!!!!!!

Yeah I live in Adelaide, Australia. Its a great city to live in but if your travelling around I wouldn't stay here to long (as nice a city as it is to live in there aint much to do).
Make sure you get up to Byron Bay (NSW) and the Whitsundays (QLD). Really theres so much stuff to do here, so many different landscapes and places so 7 months should be able to be filled no problems. try to get to an AFL footy match if your here in winter or cricket if in summer.
