Apparently ski school is now in charge of all Comp teams-Freestyle, Snowboard, and race and they are raising team prices up by 30%. Probably another one of Foley's decisions.
we should organize our own contests, everyone can pitch in 5 or 10 and we can have rouge comps, w/ out shitty judging, and random courses like boarder cross and ski cross down the basin
The freestyle team betters your skiing by focusing on technique. This does not mean that you have to do things one way or that you cannot be creative, but simply that you have a coach to critique what you are doing wrong and help you make your skiing more powerful and fluid, as well as more enjoyable. A coach can help you work on new tricks by helping you visualize, and can also give you ideas and advice on your skiing. Additionally, facilities like the jump hill allow you to try new things in a fairly safe environment, much more so than the park.
im not one for teams and stuff myself... but if thats what dave says, id take his word on it. cuz hes one of the stylyist skiers that i know. and he may spend a lot of time in the park but he rips outside of the park as well.
