Great Lakes surfing

Ok im going to school in a few weeks, and the campus is right on lake the, does surfing work on the lakes? or are the waves to small? what else can I do, im not going to wakeboard b/c i dont have a boat.

Yeah pretty much we only go surfing when theres storms/partial storms where its incredibly windy. Otherwise we skimboard which works with the small waves. What Lake?

on the south east side of lake Ontario, they get crazy lake snow,
with skimboarding can u ride waves? Ive only seen people do it on thin water

i surf and bodyboard here and its great. we only get good waves during storms though. about two weeks ago we had a streak were we had 6-9's on friday, 4-8' on sunday, and 5-8 on the following friday.

the only decent time to surf lake mich is in late fall/early winter with a wet suit.

Yeah, but the water is still relativly warm then. Where you going to school. We can get you specific beaches that get good surf. This is also key: The Great Lakes Wave Forcaster

The saginaw bay doesnt have waves. Just lots of zebra muscles and dead fish.

I was at my aunts house on lake ontario and they have a huge wall, its 20 feet avove the water and I swear one day the waves were coming at least halfway to 2/3rds up the wall. I took the jetski out, it was amazing
