Planning a trip to BC

I'm a senior this year and for you Canadians, Americans do senior week where the week after we graduate, we go with our friends for a week minus parents, usually to the beach. But me and my friends wanna go ride at whistler. So I need a bit of help here... we live in Pennsylvania close to Harrisburg and we're not really sure what we're gonna do. Is driving out there an insane idea? And should we book a place in Whistler village or whatever it is, or is it a better idea to stay elsewhere. We're just sorta clueless as to what to do, any help would be great... thanks!

Way to contradict yourself by saying hippies like you... generalization much? Just chill, just cause you don't do senior week doesn't mean the mass majority doesn't. that would take so fucking long. But go onto to www.mapquest.com/ at go to directions at type all that stuff in and it will give you the best route there

I just did the map quest and it would take 50 hours and 20 minutes from where you live to Whistler plus more time for eating and sleeping. So its probably at leat a good 4 or 5 day trip out there, Have fun!

I'd stay at whistler. Since they got the olyimpics there getting to the mountain is real hard (my friends got a house out there) from like vancouver and places round there. Origanlly they were gonna make a highway to the mountain but they decided it would take too long so what they decided to do is make the exsisting road that leads to the mountain from vancouver a four lane road instead of a two lane road so this means ripping up the whole road. It also will will take seven years and will most likely be a bitch to drive on that whole time.

senior trips are often talked about in the US, but rarely acted on. don't drive though, that would be hell, and it would take you at least 3 full days of driving...you'd hate yourself for it. if you have the cash, fly out tehre and just get up to whistler...once you're there, you're set. but go to whistler for sure, it's sick.

Where I'm from, pretty much goes on a senior week... it's the cool thing to do here in Hershey... but all the rich kids go down to Ocean City Maryland of Myrtle Beach and get their rents to buy them cases upon cases of alcohol... So I'm gonna go to Canada, snowboard, and buy my own alcohol.....
Thanks for the input everyone. I think we're gonna fly out and just got a tiny hotel room and cram everyone in there and take lots of cup-o-soup and top ramen.... Thanks again!

you should get a cheap room at one of the hostels up there, it'd be just as good as a hotel room (since you'll probably be out doing stuff all the time anyway)

Check out http://www.canadianskihostels.com/ I've never stayed in any of those hostels, but it was pretty useful when I was planning a trip.
