is the only difference the fatness and sidecut of the ski? do they ski very similar? for 75% park which one would be better the chron or chron wide? ik im making kinda stupid threads about skis lately but i need to know before i buy some. thanks
lets get things straight. the prophet 90 has the metal matrix, which makes it rediculously stiff and a bit heavier. the chronic blend on the other hand has the carbond matrix, so its still really stiff but a lot lighter overall.
do you want to know more about the chronic vs. the blends or vs. the wides?? you mentioned blends on your title but in hear your talkin about the wides. blends and wides are very different skis... which is it?
i have a pair of blends and theyre my favourite ski for everything, they're super light, pretty stiff and stable, have lots of pop and carve amazingly. really fun lively skis that you can push the limits on.
for mostly park though... dont get me wrong theyre a great park ski, but the its got a very directional sidecut taken from the prophet 90 and the mounting position is pretty far back. you wont be disappointed if you use this ski only in the park, but its really meant to dabble in every aspect of skiing.
from what i understand about the chronic is that the mounting position is further forward and it has slightly more flex(no carbon matrix), still really stiff though. and it has a more freestyle oriented sidecut.
so the chronic is probably more appropriate for 75% park. but if you want a ski for everything in and outside of the park the blend is the way to go.
thanks dude, that really helped a lot. since i have the 04-05 PE right now the demensions are 112/80/103 and the reg chronic is 110/80/103, so ill have an easy time adjusting probably. also, i hear it is a lot lighter than the PE, and a lot poppier right?
they should be lighter and a bit poppier than pe's... don't know about this year's though (haven't tried them yet). but listen to ontarioskiing, he sure knows his chrons
ohh sick dude, thanks, yea i think im gunna buy some chrons, they arnt that much money (compared to the karma, another ski i was looking into) and they sound like a durable pair of sticks. thanks man
which bindings would you guys recomend, the Axial2 120 Ti Pro or Scratch 120? and would 450-460 be a good deal for the 06-07 chrons and the binding put togeth?
