Replying to Premier capture help

i got myself a new laptop and installed premier on it(think its the same version and torrent of the one on my old comp) but now whenever i try to capture something (im using the same camera but a different firewire dont know if that matters?) it will come up with the messege cannot find in point try increasing preroll....well i have increaded the preroll to over a minute and still nothing works and i get the same messege. ive tried reinstalling premier but nothings working help please?
