Premier capture help

i got myself a new laptop and installed premier on it(think its the same version and torrent of the one on my old comp) but now whenever i try to capture something (im using the same camera but a different firewire dont know if that matters?) it will come up with the messege cannot find in point try increasing preroll....well i have increaded the preroll to over a minute and still nothing works and i get the same messege. ive tried reinstalling premier but nothings working help please?

maybe your firewire port is malfunctioning? Maybe you need to update the driver or something along that lines..Try a different fire wire
