yeah its true, the ones used in the x games were woodcore. and yeah salomon is makin more of em... how ya get em is another question entirely

Salomon is a stupid company. Woodcore teneightys would be some of the best skis on the market, but they only make them available to their own athletes while us suckers are stuck riding the dead foam core ones with no pop. It's probably a corporate plan to save 50 cents per ski or something. I'm not buying salomon any more.

if those were released to the public, i'd buy them in a heartbeat. the 181 teneighties are the dimensions i want in a ski, im just iffy about the foam because im a big skier.

yeah i didnt think they were on the hookup site yet? sam from salomon told me about em, still workin on gettin a pair cause that would definately be the ski to have, at least for me anyway. and i made the icon myself, lemme know if ya want anything animated, i can do it relatively quickly

i think the 1080s have mad pop....maybe the pair i demoed were broken in nicely but i got a good foot or two higher just because they popped well....even on mogul runs it was like the skis automatically popped off the every one....too bad i could see the tips smacking against the ground when i cruised groomers or i might have bought a pair

^oh and my NT's are full wood core but they don't pop as good as the 1080s....they handle the whole mountain better though

1080s pop well however I found that in the bumps my 1080s have too much of that 'thwap' during the runs, expecially if ur trying to run the bumps like the olympians.. my wood core volkl expressions (03-04) there is less 'thwap' and slightly less pop, mostly due to the weight.
