A little while ago my computer was taken to my uncles house because it had a virus and he knew how to fix it. When we got it back the sound didnt work (and still doesnt) and it just makes a wierd beeping noise for AIM. This happened to my friends computer also and if anybody could help me out that would be great. Thanks : )

sounds and devices. then hardware and see whats installed

1. click on system
2. select the hardware tab
3. click on device manager
4. expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers
5. double click your sound card
6. select "Enable" or "use this device" from the device useage dropdown menu
7. you might have to restart your computer

Im in the hardware part of sounds and audio but i dont know what to click on now. It says devices and then a whole bunch of stuff underneath.

that would be it!
check in your old PC box (in which it came from) you should have a bunch of CD's that say ''drivers''. The sounddrivers should be on these. If you can't find these, all you can do is find out what kind of soundcard you have and go get the drivers directlyy on the internet.

reboot into the dos prompt
type: format c:\
then follow the directions.
this makes your computer super good.
