What does the turn radius of a ski mean. If you have a high turn radius is that good or bad.

not straiter, just less sidecut. a ski with a larger turn radius means you'll be making long smooth turns. a ski with a small radius will be making short quick turns.

what the radius is, is the radius of the imaginary circle created from the curvature of the ski

basically, shaped skis turn by themself when you apply pressure....

the bigger the turn radius the bigger the turns are (longer, straighter) when your not forcing it to turn

isnt the turn radius how tight it can tqake turns according to the stiffness of the ski. im pretty sure thats not right but maybe.

no, its how curved the a ski is on either side.... so like the side of the ski is a segment of a 15m radius circle.. then its turn radius is 15,m

careful....  turning radius and radius cut are different.  the side cut of the ski is the segment of the arc that forms the turning radius when you ski.  In other words,  an 18m side cut at 176cm will not necessarily turn a radius of 18m..

Not sure if I am making sense, but when my son was racing I was perplexed when I got two skis with the same dimensions that when layed flat, they did not match.  I think some ski manufacturers use those dimensions as a marketing tool

But yeah,  the higher the number the less "turny" it is..
