Does anyone think they have the ability to fall asleep and wake up at an exact time with no alarm clock whatsoever? I really think i've done it more than once. It's almost an everyday ocurrence when i wake up for school or work. It's been brought up before in pop-culture in shows such as seinfeld where kramer says he has the ability. It's weird that your body knows not necessarily time in terms of a clock but knowing you've slept for a certain amount of hours and minutes and its time to wake up.
I didn't think this was ever up for debate and was just common knowledge. Of course your body has that ability. Your brain can perform millions of complicated tasks in the course of a day, and you wonder if it has any sense of time?
can anyone tell their mind when to wake up. i usually wake up at 6:30 for school so i can understand that i can wake up at that time easily. but on like a saturday i might have to go to work so i'll think of what time i have to wake up and i won't even set an alarm. i'll just wake up at that time
My internal clock is stuck waking up at 7:30 am right now. I can't fucking figure out why. I hate it.
I think it might be because they were doing construction at my apartment in Boston and they start just before 8 am every morning (fucking dicks). I am in VT now but I'm stuck on it.
My AP psychology teacher in high school said that he hadn't used an alarm clock in years. He simply thinks about the time he wants to get up, and he does.
Drinking/lack of sleep can throw off your natural perception of time so if you're wasted or extremely tired the "wake up naturally" method isnt so effective.
yeah i can do that specially if im going skiing. i can think that i want to wake up around 6:30 or whatever and then sure enough i wake up right around that time usually a little later by like 5 or 10 minutes
For sure true. It probably has something to do with our Circadian rythyms. Historically, our internal clocks have woken us up with the sun, as was best suited to the time. Maybe with evolution, Circadian rythyms are becoming more fine-tuned... That would be wicked!
Lately I have been waking up at roughly 7;30 every morning, for no reason. I have nothing to wake up- for, yet my body continuously is woken up at that time. At least I am getting more out of my day then I used to.
