Arnt they the same company? I am stuck between the p14, p18, fks 155, and 180. I just dont know where to start, ive heard great things and terrible things about each model. What are your opinions? im 155 and charge hard if anyone wants to know. I also hear that the new fks next year will have the crappy p12 heel. is this true?
pretty much, they can just use the same molds and then just put in a stiffer spring. though one would think that they would make it from metal, but the weight would be almost un bearable.
look is going to be the same as rossi still with the px and everything, but i think it will no longer be called "look". from what i have been told look will now be owned by dynastar. also from what i have been told the look/dynastar and rossi bindings will not differ, and almost all bindings are going to the px heel, including race stock bindings from both companies.
i would go for the 155. you aren't too heavy for the 155 nor are you too light. the 185 would probably be fine but i think its overkill, they'll probably be more expensive too.
look and rossi are the same ive had 2 pairs of rossi`s and never had problem with the axial freestyle 120 there are really go binding`s cause all my friends with there tyrolla and salomon bindings well they always have problems with them
p = pivot heel, where the heel twists when you eject, very safe
px = non-pivot heel, much more like a normal binding where the heel is fixed
i've only ever had the p series but I'm putting px 12 jibs on my watchlifes next season to see how they are, look knows what they are doing and I doubt they would make a crappier product, people are just pissed because they loved the p series.
and the reason that there aren't many small binding companies is that a binding is very, very hard to engineer, especially one as safe and good as those that are made by the big companies. thats why 4frnt, amplid, and a few others have all just rereleased the vist bindings.
