Replying to Mountains in the West

I'm coming from the East Coast and once i graduate from college next spring, i wanted to move out west. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on mountains that are good for employees. I've heard good things about Alta/Snowbird seems to be one choice of mine as well as Baker. Also been looking at Northern Cali and Oregon. Basically I don't care what state as long as it's got the goods. One that is good to their employees would be heavily considered by me as I have worked in this industry and understand how unforgiving some people can be.
