I'm the only one who is trying to figure out why you can get tobacco 3 years earlier than you can alcohol. Even though you can't get killed instantly from smoking a cigarette or chewing tobacco it leads to 440,000 deaths in the US each year when alcohol leads to 75,000 deaths in the US each year.
More importantly, some people want to be seen with a cig to be cool, yet it is illegal to have open alcohol in public so the different purchase ages definitely aren't that way to avoid people misusing through peer pressure.
Anyone have anything to say on this subject?
