Lens filter removal question

So right now I have just a uv protector filter on my gl2...but i want to take it off to clean the acutal lens and what not...but its stuck on there..
any suggestsions?
Do you think that it could be from the pressure of the air plane that made that happen?

that happened to me cause i was screwing my fisheye into the filter threads. Sometimes the fisheye would come loose so i would tighten it, problem is the filter wasnt loose, so everytime i tightened the fisheye is was cranking in the filter. I got it out by taking some pliers and a rubber coaster and going at it. Coaster is optional i guess, and you could use something else, its just so you mess up the filter much.
