cracked edges

well one thing that would crack your edges are, uh, rails i think.

I haven't changed my signature in quite some time, so I will change it. Here it is.

a crack can turn into a split, and then the edge can separate from the ski. the best thing to do is send them back on warranty (if possible) or to file the crack out. if u have a crack that runs half ways thru the depth of the edge just file down a little farther than the depth of the crack and u shoud be ok unless it cracks where u have filed down. at which point u would need new skis.

if its cracked all the way through, get new skis. or jsut file it down like buddy said. and rails cause cracks. ur prolly hitting the rail to hard.

rails should not cause cracks. rails cause the edges to round down. if you have salomons, ur skiis are not cracked under ur foot. that is where the edges are joined. IT's rather stupid of salomon to join edges under the foot where we all slide rails but thats how they did it. they will not replace skiis because of use on rails but u can try and see what they will do. Volkl will replace skiis where there is a crack in the edge because it means that the ski was made improperly and Volkl wants to create a quality ski so they will send you a new pair after they have received ur original pair for them to inspect and decide whether the edge broke prematurely or if it was a manufacturer's default.

Remember when u buy skiis ur buying a warranty too. buy skiis with good service and warranty cause skiis are damn expensive!

more cracked edges are from rails, all the kids i ski with have them from doing rails, there all under the boots, so yeah it doesnt matter that much but they will prolly fall out and u will need new one after that

if ur poor and u don't wanna buy new skis yet, got to homedepot and get epoxy, then rip out the edges near the crack(s) to about 5mm in either direction and then epoxy the edges back down. it'll hold them in a little beter. if u use epoxy don't do rails, cause u'll just recrack the epoxy and the cracks will be much worse.

the edge on one of my concepts cracked last season and got pushed in a bit. I still used em for the rest of the season, a month or so, with no further damage. Didn't seem to make any difference at all. Mine cracked because I was dumb and caught an edge at the start of the rail.

on my fischer my edges are so rounded and cracked to shit on my right inside edge
