ok so my parents made a deal with me that we will each split a new car.. so i dk wat to get I want an SUV/pickup truck but i dk wat to get. Ive been thinking bout a toyota 4runner or a f150 truck w/ a super cab. but the f150 has bad mileage so i dk.. any ideas
Suby's are great cars because they're not hard to maintain. Easy and not expenisive to fix. The gas mileage is pretty decent. I've run 4 of my Suby's past 200,000 miles. And still ran like champs. Subaru for sure.
Subarus are a pain in the balls to maintain in my experience. Wanna change the spark plugs? Have fun taking out your a/c compressor. Wanna do a valve cover gasket job? Well, better pull the block. Same with a clutch. And theres little electrical gremlins EVERYWHERE
I'd look into an old VW awd, volvo awd, or any other awd that doesnt have a flat (boxer) engine.
he wants a SUV or a truck, neither of which subby makes, unless he wants a baja, which i would hunt him down and kill him, or a tribeca, which is gonna run him 2+.
4runners are nice, but im partial to grand cherokees. But im a jeep guy.
just get a jeep tj 4 cillinder..good on gas good offroad cool looking.no trobles..but 4runners are also a good choice my buddy has one with 420 thousand kms never had any prpblems with it at all...one thing bad about the 4runner is they rust fast..but dont be a fag and buy a new one get a 90-94 they are soo much tougher.
volvos have electrical problems, all of them, if you want to replace your headlights every month than go for it. vee dubs are a pain in the ass cause they always have something wrong. ford just plain sucks. subarus are great as long and you dont get the 2.2 liters, the head gaskets blow. and the 4 runner is the toughest most dependable long lasting vehicle you will ever buy. not to sure about the new ones, but up to 01's are kick ass. not to great on gas probably 16-20 mpg. if you want 25-30 mpg id go subaru wagon. the 60-40 split differencial works pretty fuckin good. we were driving home from skiing in a blizzard in my buddies blew by a trooper, he put his light on and we just kept going.
in the truck department...
ford's are shitty.
toyota's are gettin better.
nissan is sick.
chevy is hangin in there.
honda needs help.
personally i would get a chevy. i've never had a real problem with them, except when my dad smelled burning oil but kept on going anyway blowing the motor.
