windows comes with a movie makier so does mac called imovie v. simple.. crappy free downloads on net.. you could pay 500 dollars for final cut or premiere.. but both are pointless if you don't have digital video edit experience.
yeah I recommend iMovie over anything actually (basic programs that is).
It is more solid than Windows Movie Maker, and it seems more polished off. It has better effects and such. I found it was VERY helpful when I was learning video editing, wheras movie maker just frustrated me.
if you know premiere final cut is not too hard.. id say if your a first timer take a class, but if you know premiere maybe just get a final cut for idiots book or somt.
nah that isnt neccesary. I worked on Premiere 6.5 for a year then I switched to FCP and I picked it up instantly. It really isn't that different, its just more reliable.
it's slightly different, they work similar, though premier translates better if you use affter effects as well. and the new premier pro 2.0 has fixed alot of the problems that frustrated me with the horse version (the last version 1.6 or something, can't remember). FCP is more widely used, but premier is overtaking outdated avid in the 2 spot. i prefer premier to FPC, but that's just cause im more familiar with it, though i could get used to FCP in a hurry if i got a mac.
no, well technically they stopped premier a couple years ago, now it's premier pro, they just came out with the 2.0 version this past winter. and people useafter effects with FCP as well.
yeah word. I used to do all my effects in FCP and it took me forever, but now I learned AE pretty well and I can do SO much more in less time. Like I didn't even know it had 3d capabilities until maybe a month ago. Im an addict.
yes after fx i use it w. final cut.. but you dont have to have firewire unless your trying to back it up or bring it to a new computer.. than you need an external firewire drive as opposed to a usb connected external hard drive.. i learned that the hard way.. DV is too fast for normal USB transfer
yeah, AE is sick, and just some of the stuff in it is such great quality, play with spinning words around in the three dimensions, if you zoom in you'll notice that it creates a rediculously sharpe lettering that basically doen't pixelate unless you're way in (like on the old premier, there'd be minor pixelation on the edges of letters when you do it). i hope to see some diehard like explosions from you landis.
and luckily for you, I have been working with explosions and muzzle flash. I recently made 3 vids depicting jocks where this jock kid gets pissed at something stupid (like expired milk) and he goes "GOD DAMMIT" then his head explodes.
I can post it as soon as I can find a good sound effect of a head exploding...if you know any sites let me know!
yeah, how did you upload the file to your computer? just import the video and audio files into whatever program you're editing with and let loose. as for looping, just chop and copy how you see fit.
do you have any good mics? make something yourself. try stepping on a ketchup packet or something, haha, that;s how george lucas got a lot of sounds for star wars, the lightsaber humm was a broken air conditioner.
ya.. thats an okay idea.. or try downloading like the extras n shit for programs like final cut and after fx because you can get em free through like bit torrent and some times you'll get torrents that are just like.. thousands of misc. sound clips/fx too choose from.
ALRITE ryanvdonk is officially a computer nerd. mor than half the replys on this are his. not hatin. prolly got some sick movies. just sayin, he knows everything about comps.
not really, just bored at the moment, though my job right now is programming and adding CSS and html based content to a website. but everything i told you landis here or numerous other people could have said.
if i had more than a sixtoo album and tears for fears greatest hit on my computer i'd help you out with that. maybe they have the kingdome imploding or luke blowing up the deathstar on video.google or something that's downloadable for you to take the audio from.
