The way that Digg.com does it is probably the best way I've seen so far. there is a 90 second timer that gives you time to edit the post and after that apparently you cant change it. It would help alot, I think this is something that NS is missing right now and would save alot of confusion when someone has just one typo and it completely ruins the thread.
