am i the only one who thinks the sonics made the wrong decision? lets see, we want to resign rashard (though it doesn't look like it now), but then we draft two people at the same position of small forward. we have two good power forward in wilcox and collison which everyone seems to be forgetting about saying durant should play that (which would be a joke, i mean duncan plays the 4), then we trade our star shooting guard leaving piece of shit wally to play the 2 guard, i mean they said it was because ray didn't play defense, but wally is slow and plays some of the worse defense in the league, not to mention can't handle the ball or do anything but spot up and shoot. this just seems stupid. the only good thing is we got delonte west, giving us three decent point guards, in a league that seems to be in short supply, giving us some trade leverage. im undecided about center now, but i think the swift/petro combo should be fine while they continue to develope, hopefully a deal with wally and one of the 3 points can be made to get a decent shooting guard...and don't even get me started on sene, that was the biggest waste of a pick, i mean he played in the developemental league.
I think the trade was not bad at all. I mean Lewis has left, so that opens up some playing time space. Jeff Green with Durant will be quite a duo to watch in the future, I mean two lottery picks who are so versatile. West is a better PG than the others, and yes we should trade one of them. Sczerbiak was in there just because of his contract. Allen wasn't really that happy in Seattle so I think it was better to get someone who can really complement Durant (Green) and can give us alot of hope for the future. Who would you rather have: an All Star who doesn't really like his team and who is leaving his prime, or a versatile rookie with AMAZING potential who loves playing ball, and doesn't hate the sonics.
they were versatile in college, but are not big enough to play the 4 or 5 in the NBA, so both are really just 3s, though durant could play some 2 as well. i think the thing ray really didn't like is the idea of moving to oklahom city, and he was upset with the new owners for being so stubborn about leaving seattle unless they got a new stadium (not that they sell out the key much anyway). there's really only one problem with the key, and that's parking, but it's fine other than that in my opinion. i think west is better than ridinour, who can't shoot anymore, and more consistent offensively than watson, but watson plays good D. it would be idea to package ridior and wally to get a decent shooting guard (bringing crawford home would be sick), also we have to try to get rid of fortson, as he is just eating up salary and roster space now.
take that back, the seattle supersonics were a great organization before wally walker screwed it up, mainly with wasting money on big men like jim mcilvaine and booth, and more importantly failing to bring back george karl, making him the only coach fired after a 60 win season.
hmmm...wrong decision? i don't entirely think so. it's safe to say the there'll definitely be a few building years, but I think it'll pan out in while.
umm, they split th eason series with denver. i just think they weren't as bad as their record showed last year, they lost something like 20 games by 5 points or less, and played almost all their games after november with one or none of their two stars.
