and it was pretty sweet. first hole is a par 4 and i hit off the tee into some shit(2 foot long grass and a stream going through it), drop on the side of the stuff and hit to other side of shit, then hit from there into hole (165 yards with a 5 iron). got a par on a hole i thought i was doomed on and managed to make a pretty sweet shot. 4 holes later on a par three 187 yards from tee i used 3 iron and it hit off the pin which was kick ass also. and to seal the deal i found 16 balls on the last hole while waiting to tee off. sorry i just felt like sharing that im bored and have nothing better to do.
Last time I went golfing, the group ahead of me was some kids my age, and we were playing through cause they were taking forever.
So anyway, they went off into the woods to hide while we teed off, and my ball went right into the woods where they went and I nailed a kid right in the shoulder from like 300 yards away.
so yeah that was the only fun golf moment I had. Everything else sucked.
I've been playing as much as possible lately. Just got a new r7 driver that I'm surprisingly able to hit straight without adjusting the weights from neutral. Need to get out on my family's course sometime this week and test it in the field.
i hit one of my team mates in HS in the back of the head from 20 yards away with a shank from my 60 degree wedge. that ball sure was movin and he dropped like a rock.
keep in mind this was all for a school class I had to take
1 - I got on the green in 2 hits on an L-shaped course, it was like 300 yards between each hit (in case you didn't notice, I don't know golf terms)
2 - We played Speed Golf. Basicly its where you don't use a cart; you run from hole to hole. Every time you hit the ball you have to get a running start or else you have to do it over. ahaha we got soo rowdy there were like 6 complaints from other golfers from us. Any active "sport" that requires you to be quiet is bullshit. Speed Golfing fo life!
hahaha, thats what i thought too... i guess i didnt keep my head down eh?
you said you've been hitting it straight with your r7? i take it you like it a lot then. i was considering the r7 until recently, when i hit the new Cobra driver.
I love it, actually. It has a huge surface... not as big as your Cobra, granted, but there's a reason so many tour players hit Taylor Made and I've discovered what it is. The accompanying 3 wood hasn't won me over yet though. It's hard to find clubs that agree with me, even though I have a fairly well adjusted swing with few bad habits... I'm just stubborn. My loft wedge though... oh how I love it.
golfings a walking sport man, if you really want to learn a course and get a good feel for it you walk it. If its mad hot or your feeling lazy then you ride, but most of the time I walk. Its super peacefull, especially if you golf in the twigh light hours
i love getting a cart, its not that im lazy, but i work at a course, and i walk all day on it, so its waaaay peaceful to ride with your buds, plus nascar in golf carts is fun shit.
I'm gonna be honest.. golfing is one of the lamest sports.. like my grand daddy always said "if you're fat and out of shape and you're a professional it ain't a sport"
i loved playing tournaments at really ritzy places and going into the woods to look for balls. one time i found 11 nike one platinums. played awesome for the rest of the day.
well you see im pretty bad at golf. i was averaging double bogey throughout the whole course. one time i even had an eagle putt and ended up with a bogey. i lipped the ball off the cup twice, and basically my short game is a disaster. i think i ended up getting a 98 and pars like a 70.
yea, that's good though. short game is the most important part of golf. once you have your short game in order then everything comes together. par is usually 72. 36 and 36. so about...10 par 4's, 4 par 3's, and 4 par 5's.
I played on the Bethpage Black 18th hole a week ago. Not purposely I hit a bad shot off the tee on the red course and it landed on the 18th black fairway. Still I get to say I played on one of the Us Open courses.
another thing that happened to me when golfing on the same course but a different day was on the last hole. i was getting really hungry and so was my partner (we were doing captain and mate) so we finished the 17th hole and went ahead to the 18th hole and started it. well i drove and crushed the ball and it went 280 (with my 3 wood dont own a driver) which i was quite happy with, i was standing next to my drive and the 2 other people we were playing with go and tee off. my first friend hits it like 240, and the next one crushes it even more than me. he hit it and immediately yelled fore!!!! i didnt believe him bc i couldnt see the ball so i just stood there like a deer in the headlights. well about 2 seconds later i feel the ball whizz over my head and it landed in the sand no less then 8 feet behind me. it was so scary and my friend was pissed off bc it would have sucked balls if it had hit me.
yeah rain when golfing sucks balls. i was playing 18 one day and my friend came and met us after 9 to play. 3 holes in it started to pour, we were gonna wait it out so we stayed at the hole for about 10 minutes but the rain was relentless so we just went back to the car. when we got back it turns out my friend had left his windows all the way down along with the sunroof. it was like 85 degrees and there was no rain forecasted so how would he have known. he has leather seats and everything was drenched, even the inside of the door where stuff goes was completely full of water. we ended up leaving but his car was a mess and he cleaned it out for like 25 minutes with towels along with blasting the heat. i felt bad bc he also spent 22 bucks for 3 holes and got his car messed up.
I played in a golf league one year and before one of our games it started pouring, but the other team was already on the way, so when they got there we played anyway....all i really remember of that day was going into the water trap after our balls cuz we were already soaked anyway, and our coach making us stand up the whole way home so we could drain
my dad told me that just the other day it was on the news that some guy got struck by lightening on a golf course and died... it was bad because like the club owners went around and told everyone they should leave because of the weather and this guy stayed and they found him the next day...
