Replying to College and parents problem

ok the situation:
im going to be a senior this year so im using this summer to look at colleges. one of the colleges im interested in is colorado university. my dad was totally cool with it. we even planned a trip there two weeks from now. then my mom comes in my room the other night and says "you're not going to CU, we already decided. its too expensive". now this sounds reasonable BUT i looked it up and CU is within $1k tuition as all of the other schools that they're kind of pushing on me. so shes bullshittin me. my dad says she is nervous about me going that far away to college. (I live in cincinnati). im going into college undecided so what kind of programs different colleges have doesnt really matter too much, which is why im just looking for a college with good skiing, which pisses my mom off to no end because she hates skiing.
yeah i know it kind of a rant but if anyone else has had similar problems i could use help
