Transformers: What I thought

Saw Transformers tonight. Excellent production.

The CGI and shit was insane. Great sound track too. All around good base story but they had to add the cheesy fucking, disney-esque teenage semi-love story in which kind of ruined it for me. I mean, the love story could have worked really well but this shit was just too stereotypical and took away from what I thought was otherwise a pretty solid movie.

He was definitely a fucking diesel semi.

I'd give it and 8/10 i;d say. Good shit but that sad disney shit took away from what could have been a 9+ movie.

I saw it and thought it was a solid action movie.

The visual effects and epic action sequences more than made up for the occasional cheesy cliches.

Yeah the movie set a really epic tone right off the bat and the fight scenes and fucking transforming and shit was off the hook.


I cant even begin to imagine how long it took to render all that shit...

Who would see Transformers for the humans? I thought it was amazing, the CGI was fucking incredible and the battle scenes were ridiculous. There was almost a transformer in every frame of the movie, which is why it's automatically in my top 10. I lived and breathed transformers as a kid, and this movie brought them to life.

Come on! It's like the fucking tv show. If he doesn't know it then fuck that kid, he's got to know. Both kinds of transformers come to earth to find an important relic to them. The connection with Shia LeBeouf... I will not tell though.

man, im such a huge fuckin fan of that shit when i was a kid. Like had tons of toys, watched the cartoons ( Original,2nd gen, Beastwars, Beasties, and the newer ones). Im soo pumped to see it. When Prime transforms in the trailer, and they used some of the original sound effects.....just nuts.

Just got back from it. I thought it was really dope...
Two things were dumb though... in the middle, in the period after Bumblebee was captured, I felt myself wanting more robot brawling action... and it didn't come for a while which frustrated me. And the ending... can someone explain this to me?

Spoilers ahead so don't read if you don't want it ruined.

At the end Optimus was all "boy put that cube into my chest" and then it looked like Megatron was finally getting what he wanted when he sucked it into his chest... and then he died.. and Optimus was all "thanks you saved my life"...
Was that planned out by the kid or was it like a mistake on the part of Megatron.. or what...

yea same...i was really hoping his transformer friends would back him up and go fuck some shit up and free bumblebee

but i guess the whole bumblebee getting captured like that was to fit the whole "sacrifice" theme that was going on.

fucking sickest movie I have seen in a long time. I can handle the little disney-esc love story cause the girl was dam hot. Sadly tho optimus was not a fir truck, however they really pulled threw by making him a really really cool semi.

Its also now a life goal of mine( yea its kinda sad) to get one of those ne gm camero's cause that thing was so fricken sweet

i cant remember what the dude that trasformed into the jet was, but the part where he was flyiong with the other jets and tranforming in midair then owning them, then tranforming back was so fucking awesome. he took out like half the jets

I concur with your opinion Ryno, but consider this, this is a summer blockbuster movie, not an indie. The CGI kicked so much ass because they probably paid ILM as much coin as they could muster to make that shit mind-blowing. Hence, the B/C-list actors in the movie to save money.

Waddaya want, more emphasis on character development? No time man, it's an intergalactic cybernetic battle dood. Without the cheesy father son banter and love story it's just a robot movie without any human emotional draw. To pay it's bills, a movie w this much CGI and responsibility to represent the brand has gotta appeal to everyone. That means a dose of under-developed romance and cheesy humor for the chicks, families, and horny teenagers to enjoy amidst all the action (Megan Fox deserves her last name.)

I would put this flick even above the Pirates movies as my fav mainstream movie in a long time, considering all it had to accomplish, it lived up to the hype and more, while also staying true to they story. There were a few times when the transformer battle action was fuckin unREAL. I recoommend this movie to all.
