Snowboarders?

Is it just me or is there a lot more snowboarders on NS now. I mean I'm not snowboard-skier seperation guy or anything and I have a lot of snowboard friends, but I mean c'mon, this is a fee'in SKIING website!! It just bothers me kind of when I log in and click pictures to fulfill my skiing addiction and I see pictures of people snowboarding!

i snowboard and my two best friends ski and thats how i found out about this site, i have no problems with skiiers and i know a shitload about it from my friends. and think about it would this site even be here without snowboarding?

ns would be even a bigger site because no one would have ever switched over to snowboarding so all snowboarders would either not snowboard or get some twintips which would mean more people/hit/money for NS

I deffinitely feel that we need to welcome any snowboarders around, but lets be reasonable too. If some find us, fine. Lets just try to tone it down a bit. If every single 12 year old who snowboards to look cool finds out that theres a sick skiing site tht doesn't give a fuck, then NS is gonna get taken over.

them being on NS isnt that big of a deal, because theres a lot of threads about things that arent specifically about skiing, and snowboarders contribute to NS too.....and i think for the most part they stay out of threads that are about skiing things

but yeah i think they should have a different section in the pictures for snowboarders

sorry not ture, boarders starting hitting rails a while before skiiers did not to diss skiiers the idea juat wasnt there, and without snowboarding theres no halfpipe for skiiers, they pretty much invented that themselves, digging them out for weeks on end to shred it once it was completed. skiing def has progresed from snowboarding, and is now coming up with its own ideas

Yes I agree. Freestyle on boards was recognized before freestyle in skiing. But skiers have stepped it up big time. I've seen some pretty amazing shit.

I dunno about that, certainly freeskiing as we know it has been infulenced by boarding, but 'freestyle' skiing has been around for ages

oh yea I agree with that, but I was just pointing out that free style skiing was around before boarding came on the scene.

once snowboarding arived and started doing its own thing (modern freestyle?), freestyle skiing evolved and become what it is today

you gotta love the retarded snowboarders that think they know everything about the sport, i got into an argument on youtube once with this snowboarder..it went like this:

snowboarder- (after watching a vid of a skier doing a 1440) that was cool but its stupid cuz all skiers can do is spin and it just gets boring

me- are you kidding me? spinning is just one dynamic aspect of our sport and there are way more variations of tricks w/ skiing than snowboarding

snowboarder- fuck you, we do 1080 with mute grabs

yeahh, im a snowboarder but because of this site i like a lot of things about skiing better...when i hear skiers say shit like damn snowboarders have better style im like haha what the fuck skiing is so much sicker.

Ahh nice Nick! I feel the same way. This site has definatley opened my eyes up to skiing. I used to think that skiing was way easy, but really, I'm way impressed. Skiing is definatley sick. I enjoy watching it a lot.
