Is it just me or is there a lot more snowboarders on NS now. I mean I'm not snowboard-skier seperation guy or anything and I have a lot of snowboard friends, but I mean c'mon, this is a fee'in SKIING website!! It just bothers me kind of when I log in and click pictures to fulfill my skiing addiction and I see pictures of people snowboarding!
There's nothing wrong with that. I almost wish that NS would cater to snowboarders as well, there's no reason not to. We're all the same community on different equipment.
The snowboarding contingent is growing.. I was messaging with a guy back and forth through dozens of messages, trying to help him with his snowgel. Late last night he asks, "you know I snowboard right?"
I do, snowboarders need to realize that they are on a skiing site, they cant expect the same status all over. They get it in the forums anyways, most of the time people wont even ask questions about a snowboarder around here and thats a big step up from the way it could be.
this is turning into like a white vs. black thing, like whites being friends with blacks and stuff, its not a big deal, snowboarders dont do anything to the skiers or anytthing
I think seriously that snowboarders have a place on this site. I mean, both of the sports are pretty the same, and they dont have a snowboarding site as sick as NS. Im cool with them on the site, as long as they dont do a revolution to turn NS into a snowboard site, which will not happen.
snowboarders on here give good insight for the most part and dont do anything to bother anyone really unless they are shit. there really arent many forums out there as cool as this one so why not use it, its basically the same community.
It seems to me that you are contradicting your argument. Earlier you said that they were in essence very similar sports with different eqipment or whatnot and now you're saying that the two can't be compared..
I don't know where I said that. (Obvioulsy I fucked up) They may be similar in some aspects, such as both being done on snow, and using the same objects (trees, steeps, rails, jumps etc) But I will say that I think they are two completley different sports, and can not be compared. Because they are done on different equipment.
And personally, I think that snowboarders have some good stuff to contribute here. and, a lot of the skiers that i know have at least tried snowboarding every now and again, so most can relate. also, a large majority of boarders that i know used to be, or still are skiers- there's a lot of crossover. I think it's kind of like saying that people who play soccer shouldn't be on newschoolers. They're two completely different things and people can do both..
no this is true.. almost all of my friends snowboard rather than ski.. its just whats hip i guess.. but its truly sad that the majority of your people swim in giant t shirts while sitting on their asses pretending to be gahetto... if that makes sense.
yea I was sitting down eating lunch at my mountain and there were a bunch of young boarders at the next table with an instructor. they were making snowballs and the instructor was telling them to only throw them at skiers. snow fights are all good but they were being real sneeky about it, ie throwing them at old people then blaming it on other people etc. shit was low
