im in colorado right now and im about to pick up some pontoons, ill be back in slc tonight. where can i get bindings for these huggeeee bitches and have them mounted? any ideas?! thanks guys- kd
I just used the same bindings i've had for a couple years, Looks, but had to go with the super wide brake which no one seems to have, then had to bend said brakes a bit more to clear the edge. Not much but they were sticking on the metal when I would click out or release stock so a little bending is needed i would say. Oh, and Rennstahl?/ Jans at the park city resort location were kick ass with them. I brought them in, they had them mounted within an hour. They didn't have a jig but did a helluva job. and had brakes wide enough that you didn't have to do a total bend job on them...
ha ha ha, considering I trust those people, and I had 2 hours tops where I needed them mounted and I was working during those 2 hours, so? I'll let a shop do alot of stuff to my skis if i trust them. If I don't trust them, they don't get anywhere near my toys. They did have a jig but it was at the other store. Not a big deal, nothing to see here, move along if you have nothing nice to say.
well ya i know i need a fat brake, im going to go up to PC on friday with my sister and bring my skiis with me, im just looking for some look p10's or p14s for under 2hundo
My only suggestion is not to go with p10's. I don't know how hard you ski or anything, but with so much base the pontoons can get torqued around a little bit and I think such a light binding may release a lot more than you want it to. Unless you're under 120 lbs I'd definitely consider the p12s or p14s. Anyway... I don't recall whether or not you said u needed them mounted now or not, but the ski shop at the alta peruvian lodge opens mid november and they have a ton of experience with pontoons and other fatty skis and I would highly suggest getting them mounted there.
I don't know of any shop that really does skis in PC in the summer.... I'd like to know how it worked out, you must have one helluva itch to want to get those mounted in fucking july unless you are headed south of the equator soon. But most shops shut down their ski operations come late april and switch over to bikes for the summer. At least that's my experience with most of the shops in PC, maybe gart sports but don't let those asses touch your shit
if you havent had any success bring em down to parks sportsman in orem 644 north state! and ask for either justin (me) or taylor and we will get them taken care of! ive mounted a few pontoons some hellbents and some args all without jigs its not a big deal!! if you need a binding as well hit me up and ill se what kind of a deal i can work for you!
just go without the wide brakes and tie your skis on with gay-ass powder cords.... while its somewhat soy, it's way too hard to find wide enough brakes. Thats what i do with my praxis and ANTs
I don't even have wide brakes on my pontoons. Straight up normal ass brakes... find someone who can bend them well when you get your skis mounted and they're good to go. I've had them come off before and they didn't go all that far. They don't work AS WELL, but all the more reason to keep your skis on your feet. And they'll get you on the lift...
