Brake clip?

i noticed that on my fks brakes there are these little plastic clips about an inch in length. i was just wondering what these are and what their pupose is. this is probably a nube question, i know.

i pulled mine off. They look like nonsence. Maybe just to keep the brake from getting scratched against your edge?

haha. i just tried to pry it off with a butter knife and it slipped and sliced a hunk out of my finger. blood was literally spurting out of my finger. im fine though. it was really sick.(as in disgusting) haha

^ dude. butter knife. Slicing hand. those 2 dont go hand in hand. they slice butter, and softer things. my skin is alot tougher then butter...

it was serrated, i just didn't want to sound like an idiot because people thoulght i used like a 10" veggie knife or whatever.
