my question was answered by sunburst...
The new run is cut and ready to go, we are just waiting for the grass to grow right now. The lights are up and ready to go. It is between Snowbowl and the Sprecher park, we also made some changes at the top of the hill starting at chair 3 to incorporate along into the new run.
Robby will still work at Sunburst this winter, probably less hours unless they pay him more!
The new run has a pretty good pitch to it. You could lay a hard turn at the bottom and make it to the rope tow, but you would have to endure a terrible traverse to get back to it at the top. So Chair three will be running. With how crowded it's going to be there this coming year, they have to have chair 3 going and they need to spread out the people in the park.
I bet if somebody did a ski/boarder density study, Sunburst would have the one of busiest terrain parks in the country!
Most people don't understand how that much traffic kills the takeoffs and landings!
PS wait until you see the boxes we have ordered!!!!!!
I've got a baby on the way in Sept and my knee won't be ready until August, which is when Robby's getting hitched so maybe late August we could plan something!!!
Everyone keeps asking me though so it's going to happen just don't know when and what kind of shape the ramps in???
we are so packed man but i bet your right also. Its just that everyone who straps a snowboard on their feet in the midwest feels obligated to go into the park and suck most of the time
i really wouldnt say SB has a crew. I know you andy have some buddies that you ski with. i ski with bp, powdahchowdah, and skatefilly, then there are like 4 othger guys that i ride with if i see them there. its like HS as SB, we all have little cliques, we shoukld make one big crew, and have cool hand signs and shit. so we can be gangsta.
ahah ya the Skiers Kinda levitate towards each other, but I bet we will be seeing alot more of each other next year, Having a car (hopefully) will mean I dont have to rely on reed for rides, and shit so we can all meet up there more often and be a nice little crew
if I come and ski sunburst this coming season with my friend from chicago, are we going to be outcast from this locals crew? or do all the skiers there generally ski together?
^^ what bp said. usually its only a couple of skiiers there at a time and from what i saw last year when i skied, we stuck together run after run. sunburst has great potential this year and im hoping to be up there all the time. i was last year for ski racing, id ditch practice and hit the park hahah.
give me all your aim's and shit guys we can get a small crew to go up every weekend or somethin.
I really like the rainbow-flat box aswell as the up box at the beginning of the park on the skiers right, the lip onto it sucked but it was still super fun
for some reason the park has alot of flow, more flow than a couple of the park ive skied out west
i agree with the urban single barrel. make some snow steps to make it alittle more fun. also a dfd would also be really nice. im just happy to hear about the jump line and actually being able to hit a jump with speed.
I belive the correct name for the flat to rainbow would be (teardrop) but i could be wrong. Either way it is a flat to rainbow or rainbow to flat. as in this picture.
This C-box is pretty sick too.
Another sick rail.
Sunburst had it going on last year for awhile!!! and these pictures are from December!!!
yea that set up was sick. even getting close to the end of the year it was still a great set up. in that last picture the kicker to the far right was impossible. =[
