ok, so i have a lot of free time this summer and i was thinking of sanding down the housing on a pair of p18's and re painting them the color of my liking. anyone have any thoughts on this? and how different do you think a metal to is to like a plastic one.
and if you were wondering i hand sanded them down a bit, then put 2 coats of caterpillar black primer on them, the 2 coats of rustolem industrial textured paint.
They look sweet man, especially on the T-halls...
If you wanted be really intricate, you could contine the rasta pattern down over the binding for the right ski, but that'd take ages and you'd need it to be on the ski.
Hmm, Im actually thinking of doing that to my gold fks. What grain of sandpaper did you use. Should I even sand mine? They have never been used. Maybe just use primer?
i sanded with 220 paper, and i didn't take em apart at all, i taped over screw heads and stuff though. they were always on those skis though, never came off.
I just finished mine. I ledt a little room around the moving parts, so there is a little bit of gold. But, im going to touvh it up with a black sharpie. Pics will be up within the hour.
my boots are a disgusting colour white now and I'm just wondering if I sand them down and make them smooth and shit, would I be able to spray paint them white and then add like clearcoat or would they just chip and look like shit?
Yea about the Boot question: I think boots flex to much, and the paint would probably just flake off and crack. If you could find some super flexible extreme conditions paint you might be alright.
