could some one explain to me the difference im a noob i know, but all i know is a turbo uses exaghust air to power it, supercharger is off of the air intake or something. w/e then i know a supercharger is lower RPM and turbo is for higher RPM. But what are the benefits of one or the other

easiest would be an intake and ecu n then if u wanna spend a lil more money do the exhaust, and if u really wanna mod it supercharge it and redo the fuel system like fuel rail, injectors, all that shit

My moms friend from work was moving and it was going to cost him a shit load to ship the car so he sold it to us for cheap. And no were not rich. My dad is garaging his Mercedes AMG C43. We have an suv but he just didnt wanna drive the benz when the roads were salty and so he could garage it.
I myself am not a fan of mustangs at all but it was a good deal but i would like to take advantage of it and do some stuff to it.

hell no, most hi-po stangs taht are ripping the track are running eithera Twin turbo kit with 2 T55, or a huge T-80/88 turbo. Is this a v8 or the v6? auto or 5-speed? can you work on it yourself? how much you wanna spend? the more money themore power=worse handeling in the snow.

Im not looking to take it on the track or make it into a drag. But i think its like a basic v6 everything stock. Its the like basic package so ithink its only around 150hp. I'd like it to be around 200hp+ so nothing huge, but ionno if i can do that without spending a lot of green. and yeah its a 5 speed. I can most likely work on it myself or with my dad cuz he knows a good amount about cars and so do my friends.

He got it for $20grand used? and he keeps good care of it. I have friends whose parents buy them a 21thousand car for their birthdays while my dads been searching for a car like this for about 15 years. next time get some more details idiot.. and if we were rich i'd have a car by now wouldnt you think? we bought the mustang for $800

Supercharger is driven by the engine. Down fall to this is that it takes power from the engine to spin the supercharger. Plus side is that there is power at the low rpms all the way up to redline.
Turbos run off of exhaust being pushed through a turbine which spins a larger turbine. Down fall is that it takes some time to get the turbo spinning (turbo lag) so there is little power in the low rpms. The bigger the turbo, the longer it takes to get spinning. With large turbos, you can get a shitload of power at the high rpms. Small turbos get spinning faster so there is less turbo lag and more power in low rpms, but it teeters off near the top.

Just get a 50 shot of nitrous.
Or just swap a v8 into it. Find a wrecked crown vic, or explorer or something and swap in the running gear. It can be done pretty cheap. There aren't many parts for the v6's.

Mustangs are V8's
Get Headers, intake, and exhaust, u should get 100 more HP from just that

Shut the fuck up you imbecile.
He already said it's a 6. And yes there's 6 cylinder Mustangs, and camaros and firebirds. Hell there were even 4 cylinder stangs.
And 100 hp from that I think you live in your own little world

yeah. mustang for winter was not a smart move. V6 was also a bad move, you seemed to get a nice price, but its not really worth it. the v8 woulda been better. i dont know much about cars, but i know a v6 mustang wasn't good for winter or modding. my suggestion that your dad wont listen to is for you to keep the stang and him get a different car for winter

Yeah but see were not looking for a car to necessarily handle in like snow/ice or have 4 wheel drive. we just wanted a car that he could take out when the roads were salted and shit like that. We werent planning on buying the car but it just kinda came outta no where and for $800 and in good condition we didnt want to pass it up

best bang for the buck without sacrificing drivability and mpg would be cold air intake, and exhaust you would be amazed what letting an engine breath better will do. your not racing so you dont need a short throw shifter. Do a good tune up with all new plugs, wires and coil(s). i wouldnt advise putting in gears if it is a "winter" car could be a pain in the ass when you do eventually get on some ice on it. If you really wanted to go balls to the wall doing turbos or a charger are good, but for that kinda money just do a swap to a v8.

don't bother swapping the engine, you already said you wanted better handling, a V8 would be nice for tons of HP but that's not too great in the winter...
get headers, new exhaust system, suspension etc...
also check out roush racing
pricey, but you can make it run, handle, and brake like a race car
All times are Eastern (-5)
