Yes, it's official. In an interview done by Friflyt.no he says that he changes sponsor, and that his new sponsor (gucci or versace?) will be official during the next weekend. In this article written in norwegian (probably hard for you guys to understand) he also mentions that he's sold the Porsche with 700 hk to the adventage of a Lamborghini Gallardo. Guy's definately don't poor, haha

If you could see jons sw 1080 on ultra slow-motion from an helicopter, you would think his are better.

Jon just has perfection in his tricks... never flails, and they always just look smooth as shit. His style is perfection and a little bit old school... I love it.

that's ebcause you now believe that his style is the way to do it because he's so god damn good and has had that style forever, that's why it looks normal

I'm sorry, I love Jon. But he did not invent style by any means. I really don't dig his style at all on a lot of tricks.

He wasn't saying Jon invented style, just that jon invented that kind. Now that everyone has imitated him, it looks normal.

Dude, he was slaying the rails at the US Open last year, wtf are you on about. Just because he likes big airs doesnt mean hes a poor rail skier at all.

im 99.9% sure is going back with Oakley. JL is cool and all, but they have NO other athletes, and the stuff isn't technical at all. Its the kind of stuff you wear on tremblant that looks awsome, but then you freeze your ass, and get soaked. Not to mention oakley has pretty much the best designs out there.

No, his downfall was washing out on his big air tricks...

The reason why I love Jon so much is because of his individuality. His tricks are the most perfect in the world. He doesnt flail one bit, he goes huge, and he always wears the sickest gear. This guy is all about style and nothing else. When people were throwing switch cork 10s at the first JOI he was doing switch cork 5 truckdrivers (best trick ever done imo) with the best and most unique style out there.
How many skiers can grab true nose with their knees tucked up like that? Only Jon. everyone else does it prison style, which I personally don't dig.
Who cares if he doesnt do rails; rails arent his thing. I don't give two shits about rails personally, and obviously Jon likes to go big and smooth, and you can't do that with rails. Face it, they are just smaller.
Jon kills powder, he kills the race course, and he kills freestyle. How many skiers in the world are THAT good at all 3?
Plus back in the day when everyone was doing cork 7 iron crosses, jon was doing switch cork 9s with some faaaat tail grabs and going twice as big as everyone else, and he was a teenager, whereas everyone else was older than him.
Best 10? maybe not, but he's still a better skier than any jibber in the world and none of you can even reasonably doubt that.

so you basically stated that you buy your gear solely on what it looks like? that's weak, and i bet a lot of people on this site do as well, which explains why everyone is always so hyped on oakley. their gear is shit, if it's not gore-tex, have fun dealing with leaky jackets/pants after a season or so. why spend the money on a sick looking jacket if you could buy a quality jacket and have it last much longer and still look good?

because looking good is the most important part of skiing other than fun
I'd rather be wet and steezy than cold and bunk. Its just water, who gives a fuck. we swim in it all the time.

I would agree, except Jon is better than candide at big mountain and racing.

great answer as per usual , you knwo your shit... jonis actually preety good at rails too he can 450 270 out thats preety good in my mind and that huge long rail he did in 1242 was nasty.... candide is a better all round skier though and so is henrick , but he is top 3 over alll no doubt

If it comes down to looking good or having the sickest waterproofing, I'm going with aesthetics every time. I have never really been in any sort of situation where my gear didn't do what I needed it to do. Sure, if I'm skiing in the pouring rain, I'll drier in Arcteryx rather than Aeryx but I know which one I'd rather drop bills on.
Tanaka, props!

But you wouldnt get wet... Just because its expensive doesnt mean its just all for show. JL actually is some of the best ski gear I've owned, miles above Oakley. The only company that probably makes something more bombproof would be arc'terxy (and possibly the top of the line Orage stuff thats dropping this year).
