Throwing Cab cork 5's....

Is it almost the same as throwing a bio? I'm pretty sure it is, I'm just trying to clarify it.
And I'm asking the skiers who can actually do the trick everytime. Not a 12 year old.

i don't think so, if i threw bios like my switch corks they'd probably go misty. i do bios wierd though and dip my shoulder late. just a note though, it's really easy to screw up switch corks when learning them by dropping too much shoulder and turning it into a switch rodeo. i guess it's similar to a bio though. just dip the non leading shoulder when initiating the spin.

my first sw 5's went corked anyways and took me a while to get them flat
but on tramp with bio 5's id look backwards as if i was skiing sw and made it helped me with my sw cork 5

yea thats what happened to me the first time, they were just corked. But depending on the way youre spinning, I drop my outside shoulder and lean back

A switch cork 5 is more like a 360 that anything. Shit's way easy. If you even commit a little off the take off it'll come around.

i wish it was that easy. i threw one, my ski came off, hit me in the head in the air, and then landed on me. it sucked

you threw the spin too early (or your DIN is way too low/ bindings suck), i suggest you work on switch 1s and 3s for a bit to correct this, try to make yourself spin after you leave the lip.

for switch cork you just basically get on edge coming off the jump and throw sw 180 kinda leaning to the side your spinning, then drop your shoulder a bit and itll drop into cork. If you throw switch bio, your leaning the opposite way coming off the jump.

my switch cork 5s feel similar to a forward bio 5. its actually a pretty easy trick. once you commit once it all comes together

im not exactly good in the park but i know my way around trampolines and after a while of pondering i came to the conclusion that switch corks are bio 5s. then i started looking behind me adn pretending i was switch and it was very clear that was true. so yes they are the same thing and i guess switch bios are corks going backwards.

well how to you throw a sw cork 5? with the the lip or against it? it doesn't seem like a bio to me, it seems opposite of a bio, but it doesn't seem like there's a true consensus on what to call switch rotations.

think cork=back flip, bio=front flip. when you throw bio your throwing it forwards with your opp shoulder. you throw it towards the ground in front of you instead of behind you like in a cork. its really easy to turn bios into mistys tho, so try to not throw to hard down and more across

i think in the end we are both right, its just the terminology. lets say your heading backwards towards a jump and you want to do a sw cork 5. well to do that your body is going to have to go off axis up hill (feet parallel with head but your head is uphill). this meand that his head is going to have to go off axis towards his tips which is the same as a bio.
this is way too confusing and hard to get your mind around.

i agree with you about the bio being same a sw cork - basically anything you throw skiing normal is opposite when you are skiing sw. bios are corks and corks bios but some people do set them differently

yep, it seems like switch cork would feel like a bio, if i could do either of them, just from watching videos and stuff

all i can do is bio, but it all depends how u spin, if the bases of ur skis are facing the lip then its bio

I know what he's sayin' about being bio. But bio is more hucky, let it trip your feet out kind spin. A switch cork five you just roll it, and it takes minimal effort. Make sure you wait to pop though. Don't catch/drag your tips off the takeoff.

hahaa balls........switch cork 5 is a relatively easy cork spin. plus you had a couple decent riders (other than andrew) give you advice. at least pretend to be grateful people helped
and while skiing i always picture switch cork to be a reg bio. I went on a tramp today and do what that other kid suggested. do switch 5s looking back then reg bio 5s, they were exactly the same for me

no they are not similar at all. that whole moving forward as opposed to backwards make them feel completely different. it may feel the same on a trampoline but when you go skiing you have this thing called forward momentum.

not really, the rotation is similar but the take off is way different.
All times are Eastern (-5)
