you can find final cut for free online, torrents are great! And yeah anywhere from 1g, to 2 g's will work. i edited on 1 for the longest time and did good w/ it.

he pretty much said it, and the pro is a very good choice if your going for a laptop. if you havent edited much or dont plan to much imovie is probably fine but i would highly reccommend FCP, and if you get the suite (torrent once again) it has other programs that all are meant to work together ie DVD studio pro, Live Type, Garage Band etc...

it's super easy, easier than on PC for most stuff because their copy protection sucks.

ya go for 2gbs and don't bother buying the full final cut because you can get it through torrents

go for the 2g ram, 160gb 7200rpm and the matte screen. Glossy screens aren't good for editing.

quoting apple
"Choose the glossy widescreen display to make your graphics, photos, and videos appear with richer colors and deeper blacks"
Matte is anti-glare and more accurate.

or buy a harddrive and enclosure and put it together yourself for like 2/3rds the price. its pretty easy too. I have a lacie though, it works well. the porse

The point is the glossy enhances color and contrast where the matte is more realistic/accurate.
