I'm really keen to work in Canada in the coming winter as an instructor. i'm 17 turning 18 in Jan and I live in NZ at the moment. Can anybody help me out? I've sort of got things rolling with Whistler and Big White, but I just want to know what some options are. anything you can tell me to help out would be great. Cheers

don't count on making much money. if you're gona work at a ski resort it's for the skiing all the way. sorry though don't know anything else about it.

yeah i'm not in it for the money I just want to experience a different winter from the NZ one and get out of home for a while

yeah anything like that really. what are some good all roung slopes like good BC good park. and where is a place where it won't be impossible to find a place to stay if i arrive end of novemberish maybe

NZ eh? I hope you like Aussies, cuz thems the only people working around here when winter hits.
Funny, but true.
Whistlerites usually end up living on top of eachother because it's way more expensive than any other town. Banff usually affords a better quality of life. The other smaller towns (Kelowna, Fernie, Golden) all afford better qualities of life, but smaller party scenes, less chicks, and less crowds. Kicking Horse Resort (near Golden) consistently has the best seasons and the best terrain, but it's a bit of a redneckin' town. Fernie's totally a hardcore's dream, but, man, it rains quite a bit.....erg.

That's the low-down.

yeah lots of brits and aussies in banff, aussies for the most part are pretty cool people though. And brits well, some are ok...

If you're looking to get lots of skiing in well theres other jobs that will give you more free time on the slope compared to ski instructing you have to spend most of your time during the day instructing. But you get a free pass with instructing which is a possitive.

I worked as a rental tech at a shop in Banff, and I got 5 days of skiing a week. And even though its nice getting tips on technique while instructing, you dont see many instructors in the park.
