Grete Eliassen was born in Highland Hills, Minnesota, but at the age of 13 her family moved to Lillehammer, Norway. Grete started out racing around the age of 10 until she was 16, where she made her way up onto the Norwegian Europa Cup Team. Now at the age of 20, Grete is now a homeowner and resides in Utah, where she attends college at the University of Utah, when not traveling the world winning contests left and right.
2005 was the year of Grete on the contest scene with first place finishes at X games Superpipe, US Open Slopestyle, Jon Olsson Invitational, and Gravity Games Rail Jam. To top it off, Grete repeated as an X Games gold medalist in Superpipe this past season. With such a relaxed approach, Grete shows up to contests without even training in pipe or slope until she shows up to the venue a few days before the contest.
