i was thinking about getting those, but then realized that skis that short look incredibly idiotic. wait for the 08's at least if youre going to get icelantics, theyre supposed to have a 160 something option.
the pilgrims are pretty dope. they are a lot of fun. next year the pilgrims come in a 151 and 169. the nomads come in a 156 and 168. the shamans come in a 161 and 173. the scouts are pretty much unchanged but there is an option of a softer flex version. everybody needs to stop hating on these if they have never tried them. they may be short but they are so much fun. and fun is what skiing is all about.
these are not snowblades. they arent that short. the scouts are but the rest arent. plus with the extra width they are really stable. maybe you should try them before knocking on them.
ok then explain to me how they can be stable if they are short? the ski can be stiff as hell throughout the entire thing, and I still dont see how that would make it stable.
173 is not that short. unless you are like 8 ft tall. then yes they are way too short. i dont know all the mechanics of the ski and everything but i have personal experience riding them and i think that counts for something. i rode them the entire season and they were perfect. if you need 180s or longer in order to be stable, then i think you should practice a little bit more.
just talk to anybody else thats ridden them and they will say the same thing. its weird how a shorter ski like that would be stable and its hard to understand but everyone will say that they are surprised at how stable they are.
they are super stiff. thats whats really nice about them. if they were little noodles then they would suck major nutties. the stiffness keeps them fun.
addicts seem like a really fun ski. how do they hold up on rails and everything?
the only problem that i have with icelantics is that after you ride them hard with rails almost every day, they tend to fall apart. but i guess that happens with pretty much everything after a while.
I dont know about this years, cause I heard they fall apart easily, but I have next years and they remodeled the construction kinda, so they dont chip as much and the edges are fucking BOMBPROOF. Like, they are stronger than my K2s edges. I didn't think it was possible.
they're a lot like the older Heads, but much more durable and with more pop beause these things have a fuckload of camber...like the most I've ever seen in a ski...like cross-country ski camber.
I think ppl should stop hating on icelantic in general. I skied the 168 nomad... i think. and it was more ski than my 176 gots. i swear. and the more i pushed them the better they performed. they made me actually ski and it was fun. and to all of the ppl who say they are too short. they arent. they are just different. my cousin who weights about 180 and skis more aggressive than anyone i have ever seen takes the 156s straight down some chopped up chutes and comes out haulin ass. and they hold up fine. they are even center mounted.
I have 149 days on my pilgrims and no edge cracks. 90 % of that hard park riding. harder that K@ edges? is that a joke? my PEs edges were mangled after 50 days.
