ANT's vs 190 EHP vs 190 gotama

i'm 6'2" 175 lbs, been skiing for 20+ years, need a big burly ski to take to UT and Aspen on trips and to rock on cruddy days in summit when i go with my skier friends who kick my ass. i don't plan on riding these skis switch hardly ever, but i'd still like a twin regardless. i already have lizzies for trees and messin around with my boarder friends in summit(which is about 60% of my time), and my 03/04 180 MSP's are still hangin in there for rocks/rails/droughts.
ANT's or EHP's are $450 online right now, and can probably proform the gotamas here in a month or two (probably being the operative word), i will probably just end up going with the best deal i find, but i just thought i'd throw this out there for anyone who might have any suggestions

EHP's are propably gonna be pretty damn soft
but the ant will be stiffer
and the gotmas are probably stiff as hell

ANTs are definitely stiffer than Gotamas, and I'm pretty sure they have a bigger turn radius as well. That being said, I would go for the ANTs with what you'll be doing, although I doubt you'd be disappointed with Gotamas.

Never been a bad thing about Goats.
They'd be a safe choice.
But price is a big thing.

that's what i thought too.
i was under the impression that the volkl would be the softest of the three.

None of these three are "Soft" by an means. I have 190 Gotamas and 191 Jp Juliens. The Gotamas are sick, but I ride the Jps WAY more. For an everday ride in that length, the softness, lightness, and playfulness of the JP trumps the Gotama. For a more performance oriented ski though, the Gotama is better than the JP. The new ANT's seem like a nice mix of the two and I think look like a really great ski. The EHPs are 4frnts, you decide.

190 EHP=190 VCT. From what I hear, VCT and Gotama ski pretty similar in the smaller sizes (dunno about the larger sizes), while the ANT seems more of a charger than the two.

The new 189 VCT is a much different ski. The older 190 VCT was the same (or very similar) to the 190 EHP. I think I'd go with the ANT if you are worried about price, and if not, wait try and demo them. I wouldn't really consider then 190 EHP because everyone I've talked to says its just like a Gotama, except not as good. Volkl just seems to do it better.

i cant believe im recommending 4frnts but eric is sick. the 193 ehp is badass. i presume you are talking about next years gotama. i believe that ski has a lot more sidecut, and is considerably softer than previous years

i dont know much about the EHP, but the gotmas are softer than the ANTs, and im pretty sure the EHp is about the same as the ANTs, I was on Ants this winter and they were so much fun, really versital. So much fun just to straightline bowls, they were such a fun ski to ski fast, i always felt in control.

No. Next year's gotama is almost identical to this years. Apparently it is a tiny bit stiffer, but only so much so that people who previously used this year's model would notice. And the 193 is a much different ski, not so much on the versitile-all mountain variety as the rest of these are.

well my mind was already kinda made up on the gotamas, i think the ant's might be a tad too much ski for me. why must gotamas be so hard to obtain?

EHP 190 is pretty stiff, softer tip stiffer tail. Pretty similar to 190 gots (07').
Ants might be slightly stiffer but all three are in the same ball park, id be choosing between the Ant or the Got as i liked the way both of them ski but preferred the gots in pow when charging but the Ants were great fun it would probably come down to price for me.
Then decide whether you want it more for jibbing the BM or a charger. The Ants have a wider tail so more float when landing switch and the EHP190's tail is only 8mm smaller than the tip which is similar to the Ants. If you decide to go the Jib BM type ski chose between the Ants or the EHP's.
The Gots are narrower so the tails will sink a bit more allowing the tips to float more easily.
Im pretty sure that the EHP is almost exactly the same as last seasons 190 VCT. I flexed them side by side and the flex is indistinguishable.
All times are Eastern (-5)
