Vista rant

yeah I had to get this out somewhere its my first rant here everyone make a wish


soo yeah i just bought a new computer 2 days ago, im still in the process of putting all the stuff on it.now thanks to fucking vista im having huge headaches. first none of my games will run correctly. next my ipod just got erased because of this. i need to go hunting for drivers in dark corners of the internet to get all my stuff working. why cant microsoft make their stuff perfectly backward compatible. im thinking more and more that the evil mind of the 21st century will be bill gates just like hitler was for the 20th

this happens everytime a new OS comes out for windows. i remember when 98 got replaced by me/2000/xp, a lot of my old games stopped working.

XP was like that too originally. I agree that upgrading to vista right now is stupid, but upgrading to vista in 6 months will the only way to go. Especially since there will be drivers and better compatibility.

exactly. pretty much never a good idea to jump on something like that until a few months have passed to work the real-world kinks out. if i were you, i woulda just installed XP, and ran that for a while till vista doesnt suck.

my friend got it and downloaded a torrent that fixed most of the kinks in it...his seems to work fine it seemed pretty easy when he was explaining it

Dude it's just like buying PS3 the day it comes out. It's bound to be loaded with a ton of problems. I never buy the latest electronics or softwear. Give it a good year or more to work out all the kinks. Vista is going to be legit. My buddy is a senior computer engineering student and he says that it's going to be amazing. Just needs some real world testing. Just try not to be one of the lab rats.

On the note of mot buying a brand new OS...I'm getting a macbook for school this fall, and I'm not sure whether I should get one now(sometime this summer) or wait until Leopard comes out. Is Apple good about having things work correctly at the launch, or do they need some time to sort out the kinks?

I'm running vista and everything is fine.  I like it much more than xp and I found that I have less problems with vista than I did with xp.  You must be trying to run dos games or something, step up your gaming.  None of my old games had any problems though (except full screen dos games).
